I found Orbiter about a week ago while bored and looking for games. When I first loaded up a scenario (the DG over Venus I think), I had not read anything about the sim and expected it to be some kind of simple WASD flier (stupid me!). Frustrated by what I originally perceived as a broken game, I almost gave up before I read some documentation and realized what I was getting into. I started learning from Go Play In Space and was enthralled. Then I found NASSP and I knew this was something I had to learn.

Anyway, now I am at the point where I can launch myself from Earth in the DG and achieve a shaky but stable orbit. I am excited to keep on learning and intend to tackle an Earth launch to Moon orbit in the DG later today. <(:D)>

Hey, welcome. Your interest in learning means you've come to the right place! Enjoy!

Hi Shadow, welcome to Orbiter and the forum here!

:welcome: to Orbiter-Forum!

Great to have you on board. Strap in & prepare for the greatest thrill ride of your life - no really, Orbiter IS this exciting (at least, it is for me):P

Thanks, everyone. I've been playing quite a bit during the last few days and I really enjoying it. (This is by far the best piece of free software I've ever found.)

nice to have you here, if you have any questions about anything just ask, when i first started on orbiter i think i was in the forum asking questions more than i was using the sim lol

Welcome,
Don't give up on asking prepared questions and learning... Well worth while, and I also think that on the forums, just by browsing and participating in the discussion (which sometimes become radioactive), you will learn a lot about a lot of things... A LOT
Good luck.
