It can be either freeware or payware. For me, it's this-

Ever since I was young, I have always been fascinated with the B-17. I loved all of the gunner locations on the plane and the ball turret. There was also some stupid movie I watched when I was a kid where the landing gear was shot and for some reason the guy down in the ball turret couldn't escape. You can figure out what would have happened when it tried to land. Don't remember how it was resolved, but the guy made it out alive.
Anyway, to get back on track, I just bought this add-on last week (for $30 or so) and it is HARD. I kept killing the engines after starting them and you have to keep an eye on the cylinder temperatures. That was another problem- the engines kept overheating and they would catch on fire! It is MUCH more challenging than any of the planes that come with FSX (most of which a fifth grader could handle). There are so many systems that you have to control and keep an eye on. Also, failures are simulated well and you have to perform regular maintenance on the plane to keep it in working order. Oh yeah. Before anyone asks, yes you can drop bombs and watch them explode when they hit the ground! This is the first add-on I've paid for and it is well worth it IMO.
What are some others that you like? I guess the only other add-on that comes close is this Concorde (which is similar to the one that comes with FS2002)-
