In the Orbiter workshops I had in 2006, an 8 year old kid reached orbit and was on national TV. [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2745"]Orbiter on TV[/ame]
And a 9 year old kid landed a DGIII on the moon, Brighton Beach pad, very softly.
So if they say it is an impossible game, then they should be remarked that younger kids did it, so their egos make them learn Orbiter.
But if they consider it just plain boring, that's a different thing. Some people just like simple entertainment like Mario Bros...
If the club becomes a group of friends, with regular missions and assignments, you could do very interesting things.
For example, set a price for every ship, and hiring of a pilot. Set a mission reward for every mission that compensates the costs of hiring. If you accomplish mission and go back to base, you earn reward minus hiring, if you lose, you pay for the ship.
Missions could be for example to build a space station. Everyone will be given a module and let's say Johnny brought the first module. Then Mike will have to take that scenario, add the ship and the payload and should add another module, and so on.
Or you could have rescue missions, using DGIV for people who had failed.
You may need to create a standard installation for your club, so everyone have the proper addons to play the mission.
