Canadiens fan looks on with a bit of malice

Canadiens fan here, but also waiting for the Vancouver Canucks to finally win a Stanley Cup, one post-finals riot at a time

At one time I had at least two things up on my sons. 1. I had seen Canada rightfully win the Men's Hockey Gold medal at the Olympics. Well, now so have they. and 2. I have seen Toronto Maple Leafs hoist the Stanley Cup.

They may never see this in their lifetime.

And yes I do bleed blue and white. Been a Maple Laffs fan for a long time. But is especially hurtful when my eldest son's lady, who is new to hockey and learning to enjoy it ... she is Philipina ... laughs at us for being Leaf's fans.

Yeah, rough game for us last night. Price is really good.

Your post made me realize that anglophones spell Canadiens in French when talking about the hockey team. I thought you wrote Canadians...

You may understand that I'm not a hockey fan (I hope I won't be kill for saying this... I really like maple syrup at least... and CBC)

Ahahahaha, liar. Everyone knows Canadians subsist on hockey, maple syrup, and politeness. Except Quebec of course. :censored: Quebec.

Warning: This post contains wild guessing.
Short Answer: Drawing functions.
Long Answer: OGLA client runs on, surprise surprise, Open GL (I have no idea where the A comes from.) The Sketchpad and GDI functions present under DirectX are either not present or work differently under OpenGL, therefore IMFD doesn't work under OpenGL. I'm not sure if the DLL doesn't load and Artlav's code fails gracefully, or the DLL is running fine and just basically shouting into the wind, but it isn't going to start working any time soon.

Note for all Europeans: Your clocks changed. If there is a launch scheduled for 22:45 GMT like today you only add one hour instead of two if you're in the Central European Timezone. And if you're on CET you're currently only 5 hours infront of the East Coast. That is all.

Does anyone have an idea of why IMFD doesn't seem to work in the OGLA client?
Like jangofett287 guessed, the 2D drawing functions of both kinds were, in the end, too incompatible between D3D and OGL to implement reliably.
That, or you forgot to turn on GDI emulation in the options.

(I have no idea where the A comes from.)
Back in 2007 i expected there to be many graphic clients, so i added an A to mine's name.
No B ever came out.
So, OGL(A) Client slowly transformed into OGLAClient and OGLA Engine.

Kind of like ВКП(б) eventually transformed into КПСС. :)

I really enjoyed my car today...

Previously:

Pull out right small knob between dashboard and steering wheel (not the other one)
Rotate left. Not Right. (Always does that wrong)
Wait until proper hour is set... its almost summer time again.
Push knob back in.

Now:
Press button SETUP
Select "Date/Time" on the touch screen.
Remove checkmark from "Summer time" checkbox on the touchscreen.
Press button MEDIA

Windows 7 was nice enough to notify me that the clock is changing a day or two before it changed (really nice feature). I trust my computer to get the time right.

As for changing the time... Winter time is natural one. But I prefer the summer time, with later sunrises and later sunsets. I'm a clock based creature, not a Sun based one, it seems :P

Moved into a new location at work last week, now I am trapped inside for working slightly longer than usual (it was 19:00 when I tried to leave my office). Looks like nobody is used to software developers here.

Funnily, the emergency exit is also locked from inside.

Now, waiting for the facility manager to unlock me. Luckily, I have cookies.

Thanks to everyone who replied:thumbup:

I did turn on GDI, that's a check:yes:

Still no IMFD:(

But I'm running Linux...so D3D9 client would not work for me either would it?

Wait..does that mean you aren't allowed to go outside the building and your totally locked inside until you're let out?

Exactly. I was so locked inside - even ISS astronauts have more freedom.

Well you use Wine so I think D3D applications should be compatible.
After that, I'm no Wine user, so I don't really know.

Listening to hockey on the radio is...strange.

Depends on the team you are listening to ... and the competency of the talking heads.

Living in a multi-lingual culture it can be even more surreal. Try listening to it in Punjabi.
