Well after some thinking.....that one is more of a gaming character. Here are some hints:

- Belongs to one of the most famous gaming character groups ever
- Was created several years ago, after the related spacecraft made it to space
- Has linkage to stars
- Already featured in several video games

I wonder anyone here could have guessed right away who is that...... ;)

P.S. I never played any game from that game producer since, um, must be 5+ years ago..... :shifty:

The fact that I can't find it is driving me nuts. :beathead:

Another hint?

That character is a female with blonde hair. ;) Also in certain language versions her name was changed somewhat, but still rhymes with the name of the spacecraft. And that spacecraft is no obscure satellite - in fact it has grabbed at least several spaceflight headlines in 2014!

If that still doesn't give you the answer, then I think nothing will...

Duhhhh! I got it after the "name changed for some releases" hint sunk in. My gears take a while to start turning sometimes...

I got it. Took me a while because I have never played the games in Japanese so obviously I only knew the English name.

SPOILER! Don't read if you don't want to know the answer!

Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy, living in the "Comet Observatory" was named "Rozetta" in the Japanese originals

Dammit, Izack beat me to it.

First I was like "blonde and famous? Peach? Pichi? Pichi-heme? This doesn't really work.

Air incident in Maryland.
Three people on board a helicopter were killed in a midair collision between the helicopter and a small plane in Maryland. The two people on board the plane were injured, surviving because of an emergency parachute.

The plane involved is a Cirrus SR22:

I have been interested in this little plane since it was available as one of two planes flyable in Google Earth (the other is a F-16), and after I knew that it has an emergency parachute (what, seriously?).It has already saved many lives, but some got killed when pilots deploy it at the wrong time..... :shifty:

Hmm, it looks like there are more people who play the Mario series than I have once thought..... :hmm: (I mean, wasn't Super Mario Bros as far as a video game can be from Orbiter?)

As you can see with my likes, the answer is correct. And strangely I was not exactly very much into Nintendo games (or indeed into most video games at all, but that's another story :P), the one that I played most is.......Mario Kart DS. That's what, 6 to 8 years ago? As I have the original DS I also played its versions of Super Mario and Mario Party as well, but I don't think I have ever finished both games.

My last time I have touched on the Mario series was probably about 5 years ago (playing Mario Kart Wii at a friend's home :shifty:), so why do I know about Rosalina? It all started with noticing the new Mario Kart 8 (you see, there is a trend....), and I noticed this girl that I don't know about, so I checked and read about what happened at SMG. Then I noticed that her original name in Japan was.....Rosetta. Rosetta? In a.....Comet Observatory of all places? Surely there's no way that her name come from any other places from ESA's flagship mission?

It looks like due to this I am adopting her as my personal mascot for supporting all planetary exploration missions.

Ok, I have to ask this because it's been driving me crazy. When did the princess in the Mario games become Princess Peach? In the first Super Mario Brothers it was Princess Toadstool.

According to the Mario wiki, it's since Yoshi's Safari. The picture for that article also makes her look like a total derp. Which I guess isn't far from the mark. :shifty:

The first time I heard of it was Mario 64 when she signs her letter as "Peach" in the beginning. However, by the way she reads and the way it is written, I always felt it sounded like a nickname. I never played Yoshi Safari though...

BRS Emergency Parachute test

Behind the Scenes: Cirrus Airframe Parachute System

Yes, but only if the parachute works as advertised. As such, the chute needs to be removed from the aircraft and repacked every 10 years. It's not cheap, either. Somewhere north of $10000 to do so, according to a family friend who did that for a customer recently. (the removal and reinstallation, not the repacking.)
