(usually, I rarely exceed 150 km/h for fuel economy)
And that's the problem, it's not really fun to watch your fuel gauge drop like that. I'd even say 140 km/h is the upper limit you normally do.

because I like getting 40+ gpm.

Everyone else optimise their cars for mass, aerodynamics, traction and efficiency to keep consumption as low as possible. As a side effect, they can also go pretty damn fast![]()
We had a B-17 fly over the house this afternoon at about 500 feet.
