Only "Breaking News" on CNN that ever gave me a feeling of joy:
"Justin Bieber arrested on suspicion of DUI and drag racing, Miami Beach police say. Details soon."

Please Florida, be good enough to let him do 30 days in jail. After that you might go crazy again, but this one time...don't mess that up!

Y'know...we could probably annex a tiny part of Antarctica and put him there for the rest of eternity.

Dunno, the Antarctica Treaties say you may use the continent for peaceful purposes only and depositing nuclear waste is forbidden.

Jesus...did...did people...like...go out in public like this? I mean, it's great if you don't want to be hit by a car but...it makes my eyes burn.

It was the 80s. Solid music, terrible fashion. I liked the 90s better, but only because I went all underground and the 90s were a really great time to be fan of Black Metal and Gothic... :shifty:

Change of topic:
I had my son on my lap and let him type around a bit on the lap top. After all, what can go wrong? I can stop him before he inadvertantly does some file deleting or harddisk formatting.

tap-tap-tap.. tap-tap... PLONK!
Critical hit to the screen connector cable. It is now one disassembly and reassembly later

Judging by its reliability that...wait, we aren't in the 1970s? Dammit, I slept too long again!

The guy who pops up from the snow is holding an M-16esque rifle (probably the AR-15 semi-automatic one). Snow, not the best environment for rifles.
Back in 'Nam the M-16 made some trouble, which gave it the image of being unreliable still found today, although the problems got mostly fixed.

It was also mostly unreliable, because the US soldiers used it in a very hateful way. Some problems had been because the M-16 had been designed for indoor use as it seems, but generally, even if no rifle likes being dropped into mud or worse, lack of proper maintenance and poor handling made it much worse.

If you already have a dirty rifle and did not oil it and clean it properly, you can make things still much worse by firing automatic until your magazine is empty.

Soviet officer with AK: Wait? You can clean your weapon? Whoa...

The safest plane in the world, with no passenger casualties throughout the entire extensive service life.

While having zero passenger casualties over decades of service certainly does establish a plane as very safe, it doesn't automatically qualify it as more safe than other aircraft that have had fatal accidents:

For example, the 747 has had 27 hull loss accidents involving fatalities (of any kind) and a few more were there were fatalities but the aircraft survived. Of these, I count 19 (or 20, depending on whether you count the Tenerife disaster as one or two accidents) that can be attributed to pilot error, maintenance error, human conflict (several bombings, several hijackings, and a shootdown), or collisions with another aircraft. Which means you have maybe 10 or 15 that are attributable to the design of the aircraft itself. There have been 14 or 15 times more 747's produced than Il-86's, and the Il-86 has had one fatal crash (which did not involve passenger fatalities), which looks to have been caused by an issue with the aircraft itself, though I've not been able to find much detail on the incident in English. So the percentage of total airframes built involved in fatal crashes not caused by human factors seems to be about the same for either aircraft.

This is not to say the Il-86 *isn't* the safest aircraft in the world, just that it has close competitors.
