Humor How would you suvive the zombie apocolypse?

well, i have a book all about that, it's called "the zombie survival guide" by Max Brooks  -- it's absolutely essential reading for any who expect a chance after the dead start walking

and also, living in São Paulo, Brazil makes us more than prepared for that sort of event... all houses have bars on any possible "thug inlet" since the crime problem is so extreme  - plus, most of us live in apartment buildings, the majority of which feature airlock-like double gated entrances (the inner gate only opens if the outer one is closed)

many similar wartime security features abound in every aspect of daily life around here... so even without guns (at first) - i, myself could last for weeks without need to leave my place, as could most of us...

i mean, just take a stroll in streetview around these parts, you'll immediately notice the almost hostile popularity of high walls with electrified fences on top, with heavy-duty steel gates and bars on every window

we're surely ready for zombies, i think - we've been living "as if" for decades, so what's the worse that can happen? :P

Statistically, I wouldn't. That's the thing with these threads, they all assume you beat the odds that are 95% not in your favor.

That didn't work out well for the characters of The Walking Dead series!

To properly answer this most important of questions, we must first discuss which type of zombies we are dealing with, as they come ion several varieties:

1. Classic George Romero zombies. These are reanimated dead people who shuffle about slowly and require a brain shot to be put down. If bitten by one, you will get sick, die, and reanimate as a zombie after a day or two.

2. Modified Romero zombie. As seen in the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, this version is similar to the original, except that instead of shuffling slowly they run around at high speed. This makes them more immediately dangerous.

3. I Am Legend-style "dark seekers". This is a human who has been infected with a disease that essentially makes them into almost another species. Symptoms include extreme negative reaction to sunlight, very high heart rate, removal of inhibitions on physical strength, and diminished ability to think reasonably. Dark seekers huddle together to rest in dark places during the day and at night they roam around looking for food. Extremely fast, strong and dangerous, they organize into a tribal structure with a clear alpha leader. Disease is transmitted through biting. As they are not supernatural, they can be killed like any other animal or starved to death.

* (In the original novel the dark seekers were more like vampires than zombies, and in the Charleton Heston version "Omega Man" they were like a wierd sort of religious cult)

4. Rage virus zombies. As seen in 28 Days Later, these are also diseased humans, infected with a highly contagious virus which is transmitted through the slightest contact with bodily fluids and which takes effect in minutes, transforming the victim into a raging violent monster which attacks any nearby people. In addition to biting and scratching, they also have the disturbing ability to projectile vomit blood at their prey, spreading eh infection very quickly. As with Dark Seekers, these are not supernatural zombies, just infected people and they can be killed like any other person or animal.

So you have to know what you're up against if you are going to develop a basic strategy.

I would think it would be a mix of Classic Romero zombies, and Modified Romero zombies.

(in response to luki1997a) NEED MORE JUICE!! I can't blow :censored: up without any ammo! (Dempsey FTW!)

The whole thing would've been better in my opinion, if they kept the characters silent. It ruins any "nervous" aspect.
