In wikipedia's list of Cape Canaveral/Merritt Island launch sites (With the usual warnings about the accuracy of the information.) under 'other' is the following entry

Patrick AFB, inactive, Matador

Given it as a cruise misslie, they probably launched straight off the runway, further research would be needed to find out if that was the case.

According to this, the East Coast launch site for the Matador was Patrick.

Back then, Missile Row was part of Patrick AFB. Spaceifically, the sounding rockets and cruise missiles were launched from LC1-4. Later, LC-1 and 2 became helicopter pads for Mrecury. The Matador was launched from LC-4:

I was just reading a techno-thriller and in the opening chapters, has a space shuttle capture a damaged satellite and for security reasons land it at Patrick AFB! Anyone willing to try and put a shuttle down on the long runway there?
