I figure it would be prettty cool just to strap 1-2 SRBs on it and launch it shuttle style. I've done it with a DGIV before.

I strapped 4 boosters on the DGIV; Got it to about 150 KM at 1 km/s then the pilot was killed due to the G-Force

Sorry for bumping, but this is giving me an error about "dynamic planet" vessel class in orbiter.log. In fact, all raventar/vanguard scenarios are doing that.'

EDIT-It's because I'm using Orbiter 2006. Where can I get the Ravenstar/Vanguard for Orbiter 2010?

dynamic planet is a part of orulex, Artlav's terrain system. Just delete it from the scenario file and you should be fine.

--EDIT: and you also do need to upgrade to 2010, the XR fleet will not run on anything less.--

The shuttle PB atop a single Energia is already pretty extreme.

All throttle-able liquid rockets, though, so it might* not be as likely to destroy itself on ascent.

*This is, of course, a very big 'might.'
