Question What are you doing this summer?

trust me, life is easier that way!
Agreed, but I like a challenge, especially when the possibility of sex is on the table;)
My last relationship was a huge mistake. The girl turned out to be a B.I.-you-know-what who was far more interested in controlling me than having a relationship with me.

But I have sometimes discovered missed opportunities that I still pine for. For example, I met this girl in one of my classes, and we became friends right away. Now she had a fiancee, but I had no romantic designs and didn't consider myself to be a threat. so I saw nothing wrong with forming a friendship with her.

But over the weeks, we bonded much over school work, to the point where her fiancee got very upset and all but physically threatened me. And even though I had no untoward intentions at the time, I've often thought that if she hadn't been involved at the time, we might have become a couple:(

+1 for no girlfriend :P

I will fly into the lower parts of the stratosphere for the first time since 2007 to visit father and grandparents in Norway.

Losing this flab of fat, gain some muscles and fix my diet

Good luck. I try this since I am 9.

I can run miles, had with 11 wider shoulders than some with 18 from the competitive swimming, can haul quite some stuff (though less than 5 years ago :( ) but I keep the hydrodynamically effective, but not really aesthetic shape.

Mhhh, but sex actually becomes boring after a while which is not the case for lots of other things like Orbiter/flight simulation, sports and especially eating

well I'm 100 kg and grade II Obese as of now, just losing 20 kg and become an overweight will reduce the risk of myriads of disease decades to come, I'm not really into being aesthetically pleasing, my body form and face won't allow that  just trying to be healthy here.

90 kg at 184 cm here, not really obese, but too close at the border to worry. That is not really muscle weight now.

I'm trying to decrease my 86kg at 182 cm to 75ish kg by the end of summer. Lots of running and less beer :(

I try to end at 86 kg for this year... that is light enough for me for now. Muscles also have a mass.

68 Kg @170 cm here. I was overweight two and a half years ago, although only slightly (78 Kg which was 5 Kg too much and 10 above my usual weight). I gained my old weight by changing my diet. I lived on an almost vegan diet for two years, but I don't like to talk about it a lot because there is sadly still so many half-truths and pseudo-knowledge around. Anyway, today I eat fish and occasionally poultry. No other meat, no fast food, no fatty sauces etc. My diet basically consists of fresh fruits and vegetables / homemade meals (no prepared foods). I drink water, occasionally tea (with ginger), and due to my sports 2 banana shakes a day, either with soy milk or lactose-free milk, agave syrup and tofu (artificial protein shakes have no scientific measurable advantage). The two shakes are about 700 kilocalories. But since I need 1400-1600 kilocalories additionally it's not really much.

That's all, combined with daily sports. Overweight mostly is caused by the diet and physical inactivity or too less physical activity. In my case it was an I-don't-care-diet, which I changed at a moment's notice with the best results I couldn't think of before. But it actually changed my eating behaviour forever which I did not expect at all. So it's not really luck. It's a decision and discipline ;)

Since we're all talking about fitness, im just trying to keep my abs, work on my biceps a bit, and improve overall fitness. I dont exactly have to worry about that now, but when my metabolism slows, it'll be more of a challenge.

Remember that I'm Asian, I'm only 168 here, being 80 kg will still be buffy, Ideally I should be 65kg, but my genes won't allow that, but unlike those people who only complains and use it as an excuse, it just tells me about the limit, but will not stop me from trying. The heart and liver conditions of my dad and uncles and the diabetes of my aunts are enough motivation for me to keep my fitness, as realistic as it can be.

FWIW, assuming it doesn't scrub or worse, abort at T-0 seconds like the Falcon 9 launch did last month, I'm planning next week to go to the Delta IV Heavy launch out of CCAFS. So that's one thing I'm doing this summer!

I guess this is more of a "what have I done" reply, but I took an Amtrak (train) trip from Atlanta to New York and Boston and am actually writing this post from a Boy Scout summer camp! I earned my Eagle and then aged out, but still stay on as an adult leader. As for the rest of the summer, I plan to just work on the truss system for Orbiter, drive some trains in Railworks and probably do some railfanning.

A fellow railfan on O-F? I recently did some CSX and Norfolk Southern train watching.

Certainly. My metabolism did slow at the end of my 20s, unnoticed first. But with a few adjustments of the diet and physical activity one should be fine :)
