Weather

It's Florida, it's summer, it's hot. We in the Tampa Bay area aren't getting much rain right now, though.

Yeah. How come they don't let foreigners there?

Kinda like here in the United States. I can understand that.

Would love to visit there too...
And yeah, why are foreigners not allowed? Is it a military town?
Oh and it is always hot and humid here... about 30 degrees C all year round with seasonal storms and squalls.

No, it's not like this. Foreigners just need to get a special allowance from the authorities to get there. They are most restrictive towards foreigners who would like to work there (it's to be understood as from the CIS countries). But occasional tourists have to pass through the same bureaucratic procedure.

That's interesting. I've always wanted to visit Russia though.

You are most welcome, but please mind that you will have to spend some of your savings to that. Russia takes the 3rd place in the world's ranking of the most expensive countries to visit (after Japan and South Korea).

It is so hot that the air conditioning is rendered useless. It's no fun living in Florida at this particular time of the year.

What kind of air conditioner is it that breaks under heat?

What about the ocean? Is it refreshing, hot, or too far away from you?

Are twisters common there?
In central Russia - very rare, but not unheard of.
A tornado hurricane of yesterday's proportion is the first in centuries.

@SiberianTiger: Are twisters common there?

Actually, the last time it happened was June 21, 1998 when a huge twister swept across Moscow, killing tens of people; the falling trees even dented the Kremlin wall!

This occurrence had even become a plot food for some SF writers who provided a supernatural explanation to it.

Otherwise, yes, they are rare. Mostly happening in the Black Sea and around.

We had a heavy hailstorm here a year ago (I think it was called "Halil" or so). Much damage to cars, and I have some videos with the sound of the hail hitting the roof. But no damage to people. (Boring!)
