With the looming retirement of the Space Shuttle and the STS program our student IEEE chapter has decided to have a little party to celebrate the achievements of the Shuttle and the STS program.

How do you fit in?

VIDEO COMPETITION!!!!

We want you to make a short (~5min) video that shows the power, beauty and engineering behind the shuttle. The best video will be shown on the day. You can use footage from Orbiter or Real life.

Knowing the quality of the last completion, I expect some great things!!

To enter you will need to send a link to your video to me (via PM or email) and please remember to have a HD or High resolution version if possible.
Remember to check back often as conditions could change.

The deadline is 12:00 PM UTC July 31 2010 so get filming!

That is

You can upload it to another website, and send me the link

There are many choices like Dropbox and Mediafire

If you must, you can email me the video.

30 Days to go people. If you haven't started then you better get cracking

I'll try to get something done. Do you mind if I submit a film I already made with SSU a while ago?

None at all, anyone can submit any film about any shuttle using any footage!!

Then why don't you post it anyway; I'd like to see it. You are in the presence of a guy that does not make very good films.:)

Only 2 weeks remaining

If you have started you should start soon!

My bad video of STS-132 launching.

May I suggest a tripod next time? The camera was moving so bad you can't see much of the shuttle. :P If you don't have a tripod the best thing you can do is be still, don't move your body, just gently pan the camera keeping the shuttle in focus, but don't walk or shift your upper body around at all.

It was crazy there too:), my excitement plus people bumping into me made for a very shaky camera.
