Probably the only entry in this thread, but its in the Queen's Speech today.

The State Opening of Parliament is an event which formally marks the beginning of a session of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It includes a speech from the throne known as the Queen's Speech (or King's Speech). The State Opening is an elaborate ceremony showcasing British history, culture and contemporary politics to large crowds and television viewers.

Its written for the Queen, and sets out the Government's legislation for the session.

The 21-Bill agenda also includes support for a spaceport and driverless cars - but a planned British Bill of Rights has been put on hold.

Support for a spaceport is basically a list of potential launch sites. UK isn't ideal for a Saturn V, but nano-sats or sub-orbital tourist flights maybe.

Won't hold my breath, but it would be marvellous to see anything launched from the UK, guess this has had its day...

I've often wondered if Scotland would be a usable launch site for polar orbiting satellites... plenty of open sea to the North...

It was mentioned here a few weeks ago about a lunch from the North Uist site. I don't know much about that, I think it was either sounding rockets or artillery related.

After Spadeadam, the next best known would be The Needles site:
