Hi all,

I am actually going to be at sea for a few weeks between Puerto Rico and Florida (for work, not a cruise). SpaceX has a couple of Falcon 9 launches due to go off in that time frame and we should have a good chance of seeing the launches from the ship. We'll be in and out of ports.

Only wrinkle is that we won't have internet on the ship, really just expensive satellite email. I was wondering if anyone knew of a text alert system that I might be able to check to get updated launch times, etc.. I'm interested in anything launching from KSC/Cape Canaveral.

An email alert would be OK as I can get them sent as texts to my phone.

I found this, but it sounds more like tourist / advertising:

This also doesn't seem to work - I asked it to send me emails, but nothing.

Bah, I might be right off shore when SpaceX gets CRS5 off the ground. Anybody have any ideas?

IIRC, Spaceflight Now has such a service for all live coverage launches, but I can't find how to use it at this moment...

I believe this is what you're talking about: "U.S. readers can also sign up from their phone by texting "follow spaceflightnow" to 40404. (Standard text messaging charges apply.)"
