News Terror attacks in Mumbai!

Culture is what makes chinese workers not to meet german manufacturer standards.

You mean Wagner, strange folklore dances and beer? The brothers Grimm? Faust?

Let me give you an advise: Gather evidence first, before you claim to have it. Visit the countries you talk about, research, if your assumptions are correct.

Would you limit your stream of thoughts to answering to arguments other people offer, please? Seems like your strategy in argument is to flood your opponent with irrelevant assertions.

Watch out...

If you speak the truth, have a foot in the stirrup.

By the way, detectives do not "reverse engineer" the perpetrator scheme - they only do that in movies. Reverse engineering applies to technology, not to the human mind. In any investigation you always analyze the evidence and work from that. Anything else is not acceptable.

Well, when I worked for the bank, reverse engineering and spotting elements that would rpevent further variations of fraud schemes helped me to propose policies that prevented fraud. During the time I worked there, after my proposals, there were no frauds in the areas covered by me. It worked for me and the bank considered 0 frauds as an acceptable result.

I might be wrong. Everyone could be wrong.

How long did you work for the bank?

Some people could be more wrong than others.

But the USA did win the space race. And India has got their independence not because of their culture. And I don't see why I have to admit that I'm inferior to Indians.

I put all ideas to the test. And I mean I deplete all possible arguments that are available just to be sure.
Russia was not the primitive land that was protrayed in US media.
Media can't be trusted.

Nowadays the only media that I find impartial and reliable is BBC because of its cosmopolitan view.

And I am not flooding...
In my country, writing long stuff is the typical thing. I write short texts compared to others.

In english an letter could read:

Hello,

I would like to ask for permission to take one day of personal leave tomorrow.
It will be discounted from vacations.

Thank you

MyName

In Costa Rica it would be

Lic. Floripundio Vargas
Director

atentamente

So, you want to say, that it is normal in your country, to talk endlessly without hitting the spot? Make long, careful turns avoiding answering any arguments other people enter into the discussion? Start by Adam and Eve, when asked for the way to the next fuel station?

It is not talking endlessly. It is being "polite", or being "complete".
Short texts here sound rude, like "I do not care about you, so I won't spend too much time and words replying".

Once I replied to an email of an old lady and it was a single line. She replied asking me why was I so rude.

When I made my graduation work, I put all the info of my research and it was only 150 pages. Minimum was 350. Fortunately my team mate was able to extend it to 350. If not professors would have said that it was incomplete or too short on scope.

Some examples of Costa Rican posts, see the size of posts.

It is easy to offend people here. This is why communication skills of people here have demand among call centers. I am not a good example of politeness BTW.

I don't know what you consider polite, but not reacting at all to what other people say, and instead blow a post artificially up by inserting vast amounts of off-topic information, is generally less polite as a short and precise answer, which respects the other poster.

150 vs 350? Typical dimensions here are 100 - 200 pages without references and appendixes. 350 pages is already the minimum scale of a habilitation.

Not here. Spanish is one of those languages where you can extend stuff. Instead of saying "leche" (milk) you could say "líquido perlático de la consorte del toro" and indeed it looks more elegant.

The concept of off-topicness was a concept that I first discovered when I entered Internet and found anglosaxon people.

Long texts being improvised with verses here are folklore and they are called "retahila". A good retahila also might have some humor in it and it becomes entertainment.

Short chat communication is indeed seen as low culture.

The ability to build long statements in spanish without losing coherence indicates high culture and a good use of language, at least here, despite of the effort that reader must do to understand it (reader must have high culture to understand a well constructed long sentence).

You may read a short tale of Julio Cortázar here

Julio Cortazar is a remarkable writer.
He is a high culture writer.
Short sentences are for amateurs, not for people with high culture.

Spanish is about elegance and handling complexity of a very rich language.
If you try to read Don Quijote, El Cid Campeador, or authors like Romulo Gallegos, you may push your understanding of spanish to the limit with high culture literature.

Blame them for letting us to have a project with a short scope. I had to survey the whole country, and I had only 4 months. There was no chance to do more in that period. Let alone the fact that I had luggage robbed during the trip...
