SSU V1.25 Release

And of course, don't forget the old argument:

WHO is actually going to release it:P

There's one set of bugs left: Size of the MFDs on the MDU meshes in the VC.

Donamy: To fix this, just reapply UVW mapping on the MDU displays. This should reset the MDU UVW mapping and fix the MFD size problem in Orbiter.

Currently the MFDs are cut-off a bit at the bottom, see the attached screenshot. It is especially noticeable with the Align Planes MFD activated as the Engage Thrust readout is cut-off.

If we are talking about texture fixes... Donamy, could you make the dynamic textures for the talkbacks so, that all talkback texture areas are of the same size? Having to support multiple sizes of the talkback bitmaps is a bit ineffective, and would spare me the work to fix the rendering bug in software...

The MFDs don't have textures, the bottom part of the MFD is hidden by the label group.

They don't have textures, but they do have UWV mapping coordinates. The UVW mapping coordinates tell Orbiter how to render the texture which the MFDs are. In this case, the MDU displays have the wrong vertical UVW mapping coordinates.

A re-application of UVW mapping would fix this.

The MFDs are 2 triangles, the mapping only effects which way they are facing, if they are facing the right direction, there is nothing to fix. I don't know how to map just part of a triangle. I tried to fix this awhile ago, by making the MFDs smaller so they would not be behind the labels, but this distorted the screens too much.

Well, if the MFD sizing issue can't be fixed in time for the v1.25 release, then I'd go ahead with the release.

Just one final question from me: Is there a way to set the GVA to fully retracted with the vent hood lowered in the retracted state?

Not yet, but a maintenance state could be added.

OK. Could this add along with a small bug fix for the IAA? The fix is a simple rotation angle change from current 210°s to 215°s. This should fix the IAA/ET collision issue noted earlier.

Checked in new angle. I also changed the launch autopilot code to use data from the mission file (if one is available).

Now I remembered one more thing we agreed on for the release: Saving/Loading of payload bay camera states, like we do now for the RMS elbow camera.

That's the final thing I can remember, then we're GO for release.

And as for who will do the release: I was thinking either SC or Urwumpe as you're the SSU project admins.

I have a 500 kBit/s ADSL, I am out.

If SC can't do it either, I guess I'm the one who'll get the honour.

I would prefer it, as I would already need two hours for getting it on sourceforge for final testing, before also uploading it to OH.

Would it be possible to create a special SSUTeam account on OH, which is shared among the admins?

Should be possible by sharing the username/password between just us four after the account has been created.

Great work guys!

It's been a long time in the making, but it will most definately be worth the wait.

Looking forward to getting my hands on this!!!

Well, just did a test packing of the entire deal and it weighs in at 107 MBs.

Right now it is up to you: Should we release it as is now or is there any reason to hold?

I think we should wait till Tuesday !!

Just kidding. ;)

I think we should have some non-SSU people read the documentation first, that is the only show-stopper I see now.
