Lets see how long it lasts now in warmer waters and grounded, sure not another 40 years. Its sure also not bad to have lots of nutrients at the beginning of the food chain nearby for the penguins and seals....

A European satellite designed to augment both weather monitoring and assessments of air quality and pollution for Europe and North Africa is preparing to take flight from Florida on Tuesday evening.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will loft the Meteosat Third Generation Sounder (MTG-S1) satellite into a geosynchronous transfer orbit, setting the spacecraft up to operate in a geostationary Earth orbit, roughly 36,000 km (~22,369 mi) above the equator.
In addition to its Infrared Sounder instrument, the spacecraft also hosts the European Union’s Copernicus Sentinel-4 mission.

The mission is set to liftoff from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 5:03 p.m. EDT (2103 UTC) on Tuesday, July 1.

Yes, will be a very interesting mission, since it is especially designed to provide better data on extreme weather events, especially thunderstorms, while they happen, measuring the temperature profile of the atmosphere in 3D every 30 seconds.

SpaceX launched a joint NASA-European environmental research satellite early Monday, the second in an ongoing billion-dollar project to measure long-term changes in sea level, a key indicator of climate change.

The first satellite, known as Sentinel-6 and named in honor of NASA climate researcher Michael Freilich, was launched in November 2020. The follow-on spacecraft, Sentinel-6B, was launched from California atop a Falcon 9 rocket at 12:21 a.m. EST

More info on Sentinel 6.

Nice shot of deployment over Madagascar.
