The legendary musician suffered a full cardiac arrest and was found unconscious and not breathing in his Malibu home Sunday night. He was taken to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital and put on life support, reports TMZ.

His current condition is unclear, and the hospital cited federal law on patient confidentiality for declining to either confirm or deny reports about any "potential patient."

Great songwriter, but even greater guitar player, one of the few to get acclaim with rhythm guitar. He was one of my big influences as teenager and one reason for me eventually to buy a guitar from the little money I earned at the army.
