You know, life is too short to learn German.

I think its going to take me 3 life times to learn German...I keep on mixing up the meanings of "bist" and "ist" that the sentence sounds so wrong when you translate it to english.

Talk to Linguofreak there... he always corrects my German, so I have to suspect that he is the fifth reincarnation of a German.

0/10, neither invaded Austria nor France.

It's on my to-do list. First I've got to use my dual-citizenship to simultaneously become President of the US and Prime Minister of Canada and annex them to each other. *Then* I'll sweep across Europe, conquering everything in my path.

Wait... When have I ever corrected your German? I've pointed out Germanisms in your English, but correcting your German would be a bit backwards.

I'm not aware of being the reincarnation of any German, but I am the fourth-generation descendant of one.

Oh two or three times in the International Forum.

No problem, I already learn to live with the fact that I have the tongue of lower saxon steel worker, who has spent too much time in Berlin and with people from Berlin.

My German is pretty non-standard... but how do overly optimistic communication coaches describe it... "Authentic".

So my kid is up in Pigeon Forge this past weekend and she sees this shirt in one of the shops. And she thinks, "This is the perfect shirt for Dad!"

It's my new favorite shirt...

The one she got was pretty cool too.

Windows update on my dad's machine doesn't work anymore, so I have to install the "system update readyness tool" to fix it. It's 228 megs in size. WTF?

Another reason I dislike Windows. A couple of months back, an update to .net broke my MSVC++ 2010, which forced me to download a Windows 7 service pack 200 megs in size just to get internal features of MSVC++ working again.

For a "world class company", Microsoft doesnt seem to be very good at coordinating updates for its own software.

End rant

My mom got mad at me because she taught I was swearing when I'm actually learning to speak German and shattered the damn modem.

What the :censored:?

Is that your reference?

What was/is that? The rhythm is painfully familiar.

Actually, its a bit of Bavarian. A small story about a liver dumpling and a bread dumpling (part of local cuisine) having a pretty futile argument.

Must be the pace at which he told the story.

Like the Odyssey told in dactylic hexameter...
