Post about Doctor Who, not really a spoiler IMHO but it could be in yours.

Email by me to a...friend I guess:
"(Fun) fact: In the '96 movie the Doctor said he has 13 lives. If the War Doctor counts into that Capaldi would be the last Doctor. Which would be great, a Doctor facing his mortality, being insecure, maybe even depressed, living in fear, has to decide if he's ready to possibly be gone forever if he does his duty. And then in the end he'll find a way to work around that, as always."

Not quite what it actually turned out to be but...yeah I still like mine better.

I would love to see a gag reel of just that one scene, with Capaldi letting loose with "Just one question. Do you happen to know how to fly this :censored: thing?!?"

I'd imagine he'd stare at the console and shout:

":censored:ITY FLY!!!"

What about the 10th Doctor's aborted regeneration after being shot by a Dalek and feeding the regeneration energy into his severed hand? And of course, this IS Moffat we're talking about here. ANYTHING is possible. ;)

All of this and implications is mentioned in the Day of the Doctor and the Time of the Doctor episodes. No need for speculation, just watch the latest episodes. :P

My daughter and I also recalled the "Lets Kill Hitler" episode where River gave the Doctor her lives...
With the "return to some old favorites" line that Tom Baker mentioned, who knows how many regenerations the Doctor can have now>

Well, since the aforementioned cycle typically stops at 12, and as of TOTD, we are beginning a new cycle, I'd say 11 more times at the very least.

She actually gave up all of her regenerations to save his life (the poison she gave him interfered with the regeneration process so he couldn't do it to save himself).

But finding a viable technobabble solution for anything Doctor-related is pointless: Doctor Who feeds on a constant supply of handwavium and we love it for this.

When in doubt, reverse the polarity of the neutron flow!

...If you don't need the money for something else and have the time...

Both of those. That's the problem... :)

In other news, it looks like Dino Cattaneo snuck in an updated version of his wonderful FSX T-45C Goshawk a few weeks ago.

(snuck in = I missed that he uploaded it ;) )

Now it depends on your definition of "need" but if you really need money for something more important it has priority, even if there's a sale on something.

Disclaimer: Does not apply to investions like borrowing money to buy a car so you can get a better job in the neighbouring city, starting up your business (if it works out) etc.

Home alone.....

04:00 - Ideal current source is controlled by a switch, alternatively supplying one voltmeter.
06:00 - Ideal current source is measured by an amperemeter.
08:00 - Realistic current source is measured by two voltmeters and one amperemeter, while a switch controls the circuit...in Orbiter.

This is something to build on....

So I'm finally getting around posting some pics from our trip to Florida in August.

Cocoa Beach is an incredible place, but the Florida sun is quite intense to a creature of the dark north like me. I didnt wear any sunscreen lotion, and received the equivalent of third degree burns for the rest of the trip

If theres one thing that I will always remember about Florida, its that the VAB absolutely blows the mind, no matter which way you think about it. I feel dizzy just looking at the thing...

Funny enough, when we got to see the area around the LC39 pads, my first reaction was "look at that scenery!" The coastline is beautiful in the area, rather fitting for people heading off into the final frontier.

The Apollo 14 Kitty Hawk. Incredible to think of flying to the moon & back in one of those things.

If theres one phrase that describes flying in a Saturn V, it would be this:

Space Shuttle Atlantis! Beautiful flying machine, and an interesting exhibit, although nothing could quite punch at the same level as Apollo.
