Or just buy an used space suit and rip out it's water cooling system.

I'm not sure that 70 additionnal kilograms are going to help (and I'm assuming the water cooling system weights 40-50 kgs). Those things are awfully heavy, much worse than a full knight iron-plated armor with a full chainmail and padded clothing under (40-60 kg for the heaviest ones).

The question is, would the added energy expense be covered by the air conditioning provided, or would we just succumb to the second law of thermodynamics?

I'm not sure I could even walk with such an heavy load. My limit for backpacks is 40-45 kgs. Of course, the weight of a suit is distributed on all the body, but still, seems heavy. No hope to get up on your legs alone if you fall on the ground, knights already had trouble with that.

But maybe something lighter like a Sokol suit (20 kg), with a portable climatizer unit (add 15 kgs) mounted as a bagpack would do the trick ? 35-40 kgs seems OK for me.

And if everything else fails... Time to design stuff like the PowerArmor in the Fallout series (with hydraulic actuators powered by a fusion cell).

Oops, to late. Well, it was just a cheap energy drink... Horrible stuff...

Combined with a few shots of other alcohol and a few bottles of beer. I guess this was nothing, but it was my first time. Walking was a bit hard... But I was able to start my computer, launch FSX and take off and land safely.

Are you sure that was FSX? 'Cos I've got a wrecked Cessna in my front yard, and no idea who flew it.

My missis woke me up early to tell me, she was going potty over it. I just felt like hitting her with one. I could understand her if we were related, and we've never been round to thier house for dinner, so I'm not fussed. I get the impression and I wouldn't be suprised, if she doesn't do a cross-stitch to celebrate. :hmm:
