Great. Once again, my parents are insisting me on leaving the university due to bad academic results.

Once again, another year again. Why was my mother the 2nd best student of her year? They cannot assimilate everything that is not A grades.

Ok, I regconize this year is a lost one for me, but it's too much when there are subjects such as Aerodynamics which have to lower passing grade to 2/10 or Materials Resistance with a passing rate of 5%. It's not a relief, but can make you have an idea of it.

I know such passing rates. Theoretical computer science has been intentionally similar. Even with very good preparation, you had a high chance to fail this one. I needed excellent preparation in the sense of almost not doing something else for half a year except preparing for this exam to barely make it.

I can understand your mother there, but then, she is likely one of the people who never learned the big lesson: Success is how high you bounce when you hit the bottom.

You should better go on and bounce hard.

I recognize that current course I could have worked much harder than I've already done, but there are some... private circumstances that distracted me.

I cannot say that to her, although I do believe it. I've been lucky, legislation has changed so I can choose subjects no matter how many I've failed, and I need to course at least one of 3rd course for having a place in specialty course (1st and 2nd are common, and 3rd and 4th are for specialties). I mean, as time passes there's much more competition and next year there will be passing grades for electing specializaty and I know I'd have great chances for not reaching it.

Sooo it's mandatory to bounce really hard next year.

Well, new food for the 787 haters.

I would say several major malfunctions on one of the latest plane models don't make them haters but critics who have quite a good point.

As much as I like the technology and innovation of the 787 - something went wrong somewhere and until this stuff stops everybody has a right to 'hate' against it.

There are burn marks just above the rear gallery on the top-left-aft side of the 787, so it doesn't look like it's from the batteries.

Let's hope the plane's not a write-off though....

In other news I just saw reports of a deadly TGV crash off Paris!?

A 70 year old Arab, living in chicago for 40 years, would like to dig over his garden. Unfortunately, his physical condition doesn't allow it. So he writes to his son who studies in Paris: "Dear son, I would like to dig over my garden. I wish you were here so you could help me!".

The next morning, his son replies: "Father, DON'T touch anything in that garden, I hid 'the thing' in there aomewhere!!"

Around midday Police, FBI and CIA show up at the old Arabs house and dig over the garden centimeter by centimeter, but find nothing. In the evening the old man gets another email from his son:

"Dear father, I'm sorry I couldn't come to help you, but I think your garden should be dug over by now anyways, it was the least I could do".

I think you missed the part with the waterboarding but that's probably too basement-ish

Now for the random song quote of the night, I think this one describes some of us aptly :)

Master of the wind
Ruler of the waves
Follow your long way
To the Neverland
Lust for the unknown
Restless heart will keep
Fly on freedom's wings
Soul of a wanderer

Story of my life.

I just hope I can bounce high enough to clear my next hurdle.
