Then you hardly use forums. :P

Anyway, why do you ask?

I visited several forums in the past, and none of them had a thanking system.

I'm just saying that the Orbiter-Forum community is special to me. It's like a village where there's not too many people, and not too little, and all of them like spaceflight.

Lyrics to songs are poetry. Here is something I just wrote:

A very distant time from far away
Has waited long to catch today
For eons long it snakes avast
It's moment here has come at last

There's a man upon the tip of a
magnificent white standing spear
He's shaking uncontrollably but
inside grinning ear to ear

Reaching to the yonder blue he sees
as he is destined to
The lands below he used to know
are throw away as his feelings flow

An infinitesimal point of light
Is much too far and much too bright
Nowhere near are other men
He's reached the stars yet again

that...was...beautiful...
So is this

My first satellite for Orbiter :)

Orbiter-Forum uses vBulletin software, which is certainly popular enough... Anyway, plenty of forums have a post-thanking system, but not so many are as extensively used as this one - ie you don't usually see absurd streams of thanks on certain posts. Others have an incrementing system (minecraftforum uses it, for example) that just adds a number to the postbit (like Google+ or whatever.)

If only for the entertainment value of seeing posts like the one linked, I prefer O-F's system and usage. :P

In other news, re-arranging your apartment isn't exactly what I call fun, but you stumble over long forgotten things that make you wonder if you were quite sane in the past.

In this case, a complete hardcopy of the Visual Basic 6 syntax reference. Three volumes over 1000 pages each. Plus a 1300 pages long documentation of the Win2000 API. Yes, I got internet access really, really late!

Wow. Hardcopy API documentation. The fact that I don't believe I've ever seen such a thing makes me feel really, really young.

A question: What other forum has a post-thanking system?

I've browsed a few that had something of the sort. OF is the only one that I've actually been a member of.

Admit it, you just want to make me feel really, really old!

Great job. I love to see people's first satellites.

Since we are on the topic of first satellites, I thought I might share a few of my concept designs:

These satellites were all made in this month and the last, though there is no guarantee that they will be developed further, it's a nice concept to explore.

That is the primary reason for people my age (mid-twenties) to say that something makes us feel young, yes. :tiphat:

That said, depending on the age you got involved in programming at, there might not be much more than 5 or 10 years difference between us.

Do you know why fire trucks are red? Fire trucks have 8 wheels, carry 4 men, 8 + 4 is 12, there are 12 inches on a ruler, Queen Elizabeth is a ruler, there is a boat named Queen Elizabeth, the boat sails the sea, there are fish in the sea, fish have fins, fins are people who live in Finland, Finland and Russia got in a war, Russia's flag has red on it, and that's why fire trucks are red, because they're always Russian around.
