A Tomcat sim? Is it as good as Fleet Defender simulation wise?

Better. It has a fantastic flight model, and simulates the Tomcat's avionics suite, and weapons systems. It has a nice scalable realism settings menu as well, so you can have it essentially on arcade settings, or a high amount of fidelity. Oh, and it also includes a dynamic campaign for the A-7 Corsair if you prefer A-G sorties.

I have thoughts on +a way to code general satellite systems for Orbiter. A general class that handles all "common" functions and inherited classes from this one that simulates specific types of satellite (would be great to have a proper communication satellite one day).

This idea came from a french topic on the francophone forum about making sats for DGIV. I thought about the gameplay part of it, and I think that would be great to add proper "things" that "works" in space (imagine getting your own Mars map using a observation satellite a la MapSat for KSP), for VSAs point of view, and personal space programs too. With the ultimate idea of making a RemoteTech replica for Orbiter (where you can send a set of comm satellites that will bring the signal back to Mission Control and allow control of unmanned vessels).

For the observation satellite I thought about making a "screenshot" type where you point the camera to where you want, set an exposure time and take the shot. I know Camera MFD added a viewport inside an MFD, so I thought I could do that too (instead of putting the viewport in a MFD, I take screenshots of frames during the desired exposure time then blend them and save as a screenshot). Sure the taking of the photo will be resource-consuming but the better the computer specs, the better the screenshots will be ;)
And there too, the ultimate idea being that you could send via SSTV :)

The idea, finally, being that these satellites would be DGIV and XR2 ready, and easy enough to add into other launchers.

Sounds crazy, uhh?

I remember a similar idea out of the forum... not sure where it went or if it was M6... have a standard satellite bus as DLL, and simply fit your own payloads into the satellite as you want for creating your own probes. Like adding a camera and giving it some parameters to customize it.

I already kinda messed around with code on my own. But this idea needs structuring about what should be included, what should be in the base class and what should be a specific type of satellite. I will also need help on the coding from whoever will want to help me on this, but that will be another time ;)
And if anyone got the code of Camera MFD, or thoughts on how to add a camera and capture from it, I'll take it :)

It would be nice if Camera MFD workerd with the D3d9client,also.

I guess it is a trick made with D3D7 then. I'm still willing to see the code, if there is one ...

Oh, and I remember seeing a screenshot add-on for Orbiter too ... hopefully I'll have better results on this one.

Just started playing Loadout on Steam. I don't think a game has made me giggle this much since I first played KSP.

Just finished watching all seasons of "Breaking Bad". Awesome series. Did somenone here watch it?

Breaking Bad you said? Tight!

Cold? Here in Georgia, everything is frozen under a half inch of ice, and there's snow on top of that. It's about -10 degrees Celsius as well...
