Okay, weird thought: Am I the only one who sees a screenshot of the landing pads at Cape Canaveral in Orbiter and thinks "looks like home". I mean, almost every time you try out a new addon, it seems like you're on one of those pads, with the hangrail gliding by. Feels like home, right?

I does feel like home and I'd sure like to go there IRL. At least I know which way to go - only 8150km at a heading of 82.6. ;)

We were talking about the southern cross on australias flag a while ago.
Check out todays APOD. The most beautiful picture of it I've seen yet.

It is indeed a very nice picture. For some reason, the Southern Cross just doesn't seem complete without its companions, the Pointer Stars (AKA Alpha and Beta Centauri) like in this photo. Perhaps this is because I always use these stars together when finding south for setting up my equatorial mount.

Does anyone know what the perpetual motion in an atom is known as?

EDIT:

Brownian motion.

Is it possible to get a "redout" or "blackout" in space?

It is entirely possible. It all depends on the amount of G forces and the direction. It is a little harder to do though.
i.e.: In a deltaglider to get a blackout you would need to generate enough G forces with the hover engines to get the blood out of your brain.
A redout is nearly impossible, since no ship known to me has powerfull engines on top.

All you have to do is sit upside down in a ship with appropriately powerful engines.
