I recently accepted a engineering professor position at a local state school teaching engineering thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, among other courses. The material can get dull and I naturally want to inject as much shock-and-awe "gee whiz/OMG/cool" stuff as possible into my lessons.

There are a lot of neat videos posted on Youtube, but I would be happier and more comfortable if I could tap public sources for cool videos showing engineering fluids applications. For example, this is one of the Saturn S-IC stage testing that I would like for my pump (turbopump) and momentum (propulsion) sections:

Anyone know the original source for this video? Also, anyone know of any good, inexpensive (nominally free) online videos that show cool and fun fluids applications? The school is a maritime academy, so ship videos are good too, but these students like aviation and are studying land based power generation, facilities, as well.

This is really to add some fun and color to the class - education should be along for the ride. I don't want dull films of tweed-jacketed professors blowing smoke rings, if you understand my meaning. I want something that makes the student think "Wow, what I am learning in this class will let me do THAT?!?"

My legions of future students will be greatly indebted to you for any uplifting suggestions.

Thanks!
