General Question Planetarium mode config

How can I change the parameters of the planetarium mode to show bodies from further away? It's a pain not to have a visual reference to the position of small objects like asteroids until I'm right on top of the.

I'm not certain that there IS such a way. I've always used telescope mfd to point me at such objects. I believe that universal pointing mfd might do the same thing.

Telescope MFD doesn't work with Orbiter 2010, unfortunately.
