OHM Orbiter Speech Recognition Module for Orbiter 2010

Okay, well I've got issues (don't we all).
But seriously, I have pretty much the same problem as mentioned: only the MFD commands work for me. Generic and Vessel commands don't load.

I have:
*Orbiter 2010
*OSRM 2010 V2 (Got it from the hanger about 1-2 weeks ago)
*Speech Recognition Engine 5.1
*WinXP

Was V2 was the buggy OSRM or the fixed one? Other than that keep up the good work:cheers:

Hmm.. V2 is the fixed version. I downloaded and installed it again to check, and it's working fine on my computer. Can you double check you installed 2010 V2 version?

What vessel and command are you using, that does not work? If you get focus into a simple DG and say "nosecone", does it not work?

Double check: OSRM_2010_V2.zip

I'm pretty sure it's the right file.

Also, I tried the "nosecone" command on the stock DG and nothing happened.

Hmm thats weird... Can you try installing it on a clean Orbiter installation?

What do you mean by a clean installation? Do I just install Orbiter into a separate folder, or do I have to download it again?

See here, at number 10 in the list. If your browser has a search function you can search for "clean install" to zip right to the instructions.

Right, I did the clean install, loaded only OSRM and Orbiter Sound 3.5, and the same thing happened. Only the MFD's responded to my commands:(

This could just as well be due to your voice. Does your computer know how you speak?

It sounds (and feels) daft, but for speech recognition to work well, and sometimes at all, you have to spend a good amount of time talking to the computer so that it can work out what you're saying when you're saying things. Computers don't process sound input in the same way we do, after all.

I've already trained the speech engine and used it in other programs before with success. I'm confident that it recognises my voice, since I spent hours and hours training it.

If anyone encounters the same problem, I've gone over this with Juanelm and he figured out what was wrong. He's put a new version in the orbit hanger (v3 I think). Now that this works completely (for me at least), I can say that it really is as indispensable as OrbitSound. Nice work!

I will upload the new version in a couple of days. Thanks to SolarStorm for making me aware of the issue.

message from tran

Oh man, I love this. This is great. It's like having a co-pilot to share the work load. Tran's a happy cadet! Thank you.:)
