Its installed into my root orbiter directory and has update.

Strange.
When exactly does it crash?
Which Orbiter version do you have?
Does that Orbiter runs fine?
Do you have any strange Earth textures installed?
Does it work on a clean Orbiter install?
What is your GPU, RAM, CPU, Windows?

I have tried on 2006 -p1, and the latest beta. Orbiter runs fine. I had some minor atmoshperic changes in the earth.cfg file but thats all.

Athlon XP 1800, 1.54 ghz, 1.25gbs ram xp sp3

I will try it on a clean orbiter install tomorrow, gotta go to sleep now.

Looks awesome, will you be able to add the flame sprites?
It loads, creates a sort of box thing than gives me a weird error message and tells me to check ogla.

Marty

Install graphics driver with OpenGL support - had the same problem and reinstalling drivers helped

Artlav... excellent tool here! I can't wait to mess with it.

Now I have few questions & spottings.

1) Does OSH uses standard ASCII coding? (eg. "32" for space or "72" for K key?)

2) When I load mesh it comes with no textures but if I import ship from sc3 ini file it looks ok.

3) Some animations don't import corretly from sc3 ini file

4) Airfolis don't import correctly also.

5) How can I define control surface animations?

I can't wait for this one to be finalized  At last, all those cool things I wanted to do with a vessel but couldn't because I stink on ice at coding modules ....

I think this will easily become the premier tool for ship developement once fully uimplimented.

Great concept!

For us folks that aren't programmers, this comes along at a perfect time. I've made several addons in the past that I was not satisfied with due to the limitations of a CFG file so I never finished or published them (sounds like an old story).

I assume this project is currently on hold until the release of Orbiter 2010(2011).

Make that 2012...

Could there be some sort of preflight debugging? Sometimes the Orbiterlog doesn't explain why it crashed.

Also, it appears that if you select a mesh from a location other than the default, the DLL still looks in the Mesh subfolder with the path appended.

Example
Mesh sits in c:\orbiter\meshes\myaddon\myaddon.msh

Obiter log shows after crash:

Module vessel.dll ............ [Build ******, API 060425]
**** WARNING: Mesh not found:.\Meshes\c:\orbiter\meshes\myaddon\myaddon.msh

Finished initialising status
Finished initialising camera
Finished initialising panels
Finished setting up render state
**** WARNING: Mesh not found: .\Meshes\.msh

Sorry, no Christmas release - the thing is indeed bound to the Orbiter++, and will be somewhat useless with current one.
I expect the beta testing to start around the time O++ is released, and a release some hopefully short time later.

What exactly do you mean?

Yes, the alpha didn't check for the location of msh file, which should be copied into the meshes directory tree if not in it (Orbiter can't get a mesh from total outside).

Uh?

Just in case, any details?

Orbiter++?? now there's a term I haven't heard before. Something new you're coocking up? (Maybe a C++ environment specially for the programming of orbiter add-ons?)

I think he means the next version of Orbiter ;)...

The "++" increases a variable by one in many programming languages.

Orbiter++ = "Increase current Orbiter release by one"

I was getting a CTD when applying thrust to my created project and had no idea why. I was frustrated cause I new it was something I had screwed up but had no idea where to start looking.

However, I realized after I posted this that it was due to a dumdum mistake on my part that no amount of debugging in the shipyard would have caught. (stupid winrar mistake, I should change my zip file association back.)

What are the minimum perams required to add exhaust (other than an engine of course)? I see your deltaglider has the exhaust points, but when open the exhaust control and hit "add" nothing happens.

Sorry for reviving this thread, but how do you import a mesh(or can you)?

clicking the "Meshes" button then "Add" should get you to the mesh selection screen, from there just pick the mesh file and press the "Select" button

It don't work!

Hi, I'm new on this forum. Each times I try to open Orbiter_shipyard.exe, a message box that say : Send a bug report (in french: Envoyer le raport d'erreur) apeare during the loading. The log say:

16/06/2010 15:34:26| OGLADBG| OGLA 090917 Debug.
16/06/2010 15:34:26|OGLASHDR| Vessel program:

Tanks to answer to me :)

Strange.
Did you put it into Orbiter directory?
What are your system specs?
