I just noticed a nice video made by Euronews, which also makes heavy use of Orbiter in it's animations. Who recognizes the add-ons?

A very good video, I did not notice any factual errors yet. Let's hope the new spacecraft models also get released for public one day. :)

PS: Language is German, but I am almost sure an English language version of it is also around.

And they gave no credits D:

As jarmonik mentioned, it looks like the Ariane 5, and the CTV both from mustards site

The Ariane addon is used, but the spacecraft used looks a bit diferrent to the CTV from mustards site.

Just saw the segment today on an AirFrance flight from Paris to NewYork.

Here is the english version.

How do you embed videos in this forum?
I tried html and youtube tag but can't get it to work.

Err... ok... it did it by itself :P

I can't understand why they don't have someone who actually can pronounce the words correctly explain the stuff. PR is useless if the language sounds like klingon. And yes, thumbs down on EuroNews for failing to provide the credits...we could have used some publicity.
Other than that, I can't wait for the first manned flight of the ATV.

Had to laugh at the end when she said "focus" because it sounded like "f*%# yous"

If I understood well the Orbiter parts are at:
2:41-3:05 (not sure... see 5:17)
5:04-5:14
7:38-7:47
Right?

Lol at the "focus"/"beep* yous" part, at 7 minutes 32 seconds (7:32) :P

Good find Urwumpe, thanks for posting it.

BTW, I don't have much problems with the presentation, although I also had to laugh out loud at 7:28...
I think she said:

Director of Human Spaceflight said:
"Altogether, we have to f*ck the US on human spaceflight & exploration in the next comming years, if we want Europe growing and growing in the future..."
You know what? I might even agree with her :lol:

Well at least the italians do speak a kind of english, the french did not even try :P
BTW lots of people are simply thought the rules, there is no real focus (just to stay on topic ;)) on pronunciation. Even if, after years, you'd expect them to learn...
But sometimes someone's dialect is simply too hard to get rid of, and it sticks affecting foreign language pronunciation too.

I could say the same things for some english localizations!
I am quite used to american english, but the first time i watched a Harry Potter movie in original language... well i could have used subtitles!

I like how they always say that the heat is caused by air friction, even though it is cause by compression.

Well, if you want to nitpick.;) The plasma is created by compression, but the heat flux into the craft is mostly radiation. Some of the heating is actually created by friction.

Too bad I don't find the song about how to imagine the 2364th dimension. Was from the "The 13 1/2 lives of Captain Bluebear" - musical and is just too cute to miss. Already made "Knowledge is Night" my current slogan.
