Can you identify this character?

Well if I had a large enough image database I could run a face recognition algorithm...But unfortunately I don't have one big enough.

And the answer is:

Gerard K. O'Neal - author of The High Frontier, and person who thought any of us that wanted to live in orbital colonies would already be doing so.

Next time, n0mad, let the question hang a little longer.

Recognized the photo...only to follow the thread to see the answer already posted.:P

Ok, this time I promise to leave it up for longer. You know the game, it's "name the space-geek."

It's an old picture, but he's really famous in our circle!

I bet you he is one of these guys. :)

Just a little jewel from my collection.

We have a Winner!

Sorry NukeET but the purse is a little scant. Award one rep point for sure.

I'll dig through my stuff and see if I can find one a little more obscure but equally relevant.

Oooh!

That is an nice jewel. Is this part of a larger collection?

Yes it is. I have Apollo7 through ASTP, all crew signed except Apollo10.

Many come from Astronaut's private collection or are insurance covers.:beach:

Have no idea on the pic of the next gentleman. Author or Scientist?

Ok,

For fans of the Geeks (and who here among us isn't somewhat geeky anyway?), I give further clues.

The above gentleman is in fact a Nobel Laureate and sat on the National Commission on Space (NCOS), which is why I've posted him.

Does that help?

Dang, have no idea!

Ok,

I'm going to let our last gentleman hang for a bit longer before I give up his identity.

In the meantime, I'll post one final mystery Geek. I think after this one, the thread can be done - at least on my end.

Who is this?
