While I am unsure as to the exact depth, I found a schematic of the hold-down ring at the base of the pad as well as the deflector directly underneath. I also found a schematic showing the supports for the ring:

As for the schematics and what not, they come from this Soviet documentary "Starting Complex of Lunar Rocket N-1 L3", and goes into extensive detail:

The tower is a serious bit of machinery on it's own! Working on the "roller-blades".

All main phases/vessels now have system failure simulation. And bad reentry profiles will be penalised.
