Hey, lately i've been watching Gundam 00, Gundam Seed... ect and i was wondering if there are any addons out there that i could download. i've searched a little but have'nt found anything. does anyone have links to pages where i can find any? if there are any.

You're better off playing Encounters in Space if you want to fly a mobile suit. I don't think they'd work very well in Orbiter, even if someone did want to make one.

We don't even have walking UMMUs, for frack's sake!

P.S. Down with SEED! Sieg Zeon!! :salute:

There's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4581"]Island 3[/ame], which is what some of the colonies in Gundam are like (actually, what inspired them).
Other than that, nothing AFAIK.

And to make a Mobile Suit work you also need a working AMBAC system, which would be too cool to have.
AFAIK the AMBAC was just a set of gyroscopes and a balancing subroutine connected to the hip actuators. In other words, a horizon-level autopilot.

Not just that, AMBAC uses the Mobile Suit's limbs to change its attitude without using thrusters, and that's one of the reasons why MBs have a humanoid shape. If you need to change attitude, the computer will move about your MB's limbs and shift the center of mass. Since in the Universal Century timeframe Minovsky technology nullifies radar detection (which can only detect the Minovsky field's density), combat occurs at very short range and quick thrusterless attitude change is of paramount importance if you don't want to end up as target practice for a Zaku MG...

Time to resurrect this old thread, almost 1 year later...
We have O'Neill colonies now, although sadly no Mobile Suits. However, there's plenty of spacecraft in the Universal Century universe to keep us happy.
Through a daring intelligence operation deep into Feddie territory I have obtained some imagery (OK, I vidcapped some episodes, don't shoot me) which could be of help to interested developers.

This, for starters, is a civilian freighter use by Zeon pilot Bernard Wiseman to smuggle a disassembled Kämpfer MS into the neutral colony of Riah (MS 0080: War in the Pocket).

It's a bit of a cross between Space: 1999's Eagle Transporter and Star Wars's Tantive IV Alderaan transport (the Tantive was itself based on the Eagle), with 4 cargo holds inserted horizontally into the main structure.

This should give some idea of the size:

Cockpit view:

The vehicle is crewed by two in a side-by-side arrangement.

If anyone is interested, I'm collecting some more imagery of different ships and vehicles (apart from MSs).

Hmm, the images are inconsistent. In the top image, the landing legs look tacked onto the cargo holds, but look like they have a more intelligent placement in the latter shots. Also, the cargo bays change colour and shape between shots.

We do also have comparable vehicles already, like the Eagle itself, as well as LSTS landers and the lunar space shuttle. Still, if anyone wants to make a mesh for it, I could reuse the LSS code for it. This vehicle lacks hover thrusters, though, so I don't know how useful it will be, and also its RCS placement is nonsensical. Some modifications would be in order... :hmm:

Those are not landing legs, they're the mooring braces that lock the vehicle into place once inside the landing bay.

The second image I posted shows the shuttle without the cargo holds into place. You can see them in the third, being moved into place.
