yes, approaching and landing on Europa on Orbiter can be exciting, but what about the real thing? is there any of you orbinauts who flies a plane in real life?
Right now I'm flying microlights aircrafts (general aviation in Italy is far too expensive), and there's really no way: flying FOR REAL is way better!!

Here's my school plane, a Tecnam P92E 80hp: if nothing goes wrong, by may 2012 I should get the license for ULM aircrafts!!



And you? Let's see how many of us know how beautiful flying a plane is!!

About a year ago I made a sort of mini familiarization course on gliders, which was awesome, since for a good part of the flight we were actually given control. On the last of the three flights the instructor decided to show some of the more acrobatic maneuvers one could fly in a sailplane.

I've flown C150, C152, C172 and C182 (Cessna FTW!), and I'm currently working on my Private Pilot license. Will hopefully be instrument rated in 2 years from now.

I'm a aerial photographer. We fly a Cessna 206 and a couple Piper Navajo Chieftains. It's great fun. I'm in the air an average of 20 hours every week! :thumbup:

ive flown a Piper Cherokee, but only once, and with a real pilot doing most of the controls... and it was a while ago... and i didnt even get to do the landing approach.

id love to do it for real, but its about £200/hour of flight lesson up north

I fly the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grob_G_115"]Grob G115 (Tutor)[/ame] for over 100 hours with an instructor and 5 hours solo. I have also flown the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grob_Vigilant"]Grob G 109 (Vigilant)[/ame] for around 20 hours with my first solo time in a few weeks.

While on flight school, flew mostly the C152,PA38,PA28,C172 and the PA30. Right now I'm flying the A320 family.

I've flown a Cirrus SR20 on a Scouting Trip we did for the Aviation Merit Badge. Other than that, I've only flown backseat.

of course they do :thumbup: I never flew an heli (neither as a passenger), just sat in an Agusta A109 at an airshow when I was 6 :lol:
but I was told that controlling a rotodyne is far more difficult than an aerodyne, and I believe them... and in case of engine failure, they can't glide that much :lol:

I flew a kit built version of Piper Cub once when I was 10. I've also flown a Cessna 172 with CAP, back in September. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had.
