ok... i heard this brain teaser and i though i'd share...

probably an oldie, but still interesting...

ok, say one dies and finds himself in a test before being able to enter smart-people's heaven...

you're in a room with two doors, each with a man standing in front of it... both men and doors look exactly the same, but one is the door to heaven and the other to hell...

the man standing before the door to heaven will always tell the truth, his opposing twin, will always tell a lie.

there's no visible indication of any sort as to which one is which

you're only allowed one yes-or-no question -- what do you ask?

Are you wearing a red headband?

After that, it's up to personal preference wheteher I feel like going to heaven or hell.

Pick a door, ask one of them "If I asked your brother if this is the door to Hell, would he say yes?"
And then hope God doesn't have Jareth the Goblin King's sense of humor.

cheerz! ghostrider got it!

that's the "official" aswer, anyways... although asking if justin bieber makes crappy music shoud probably work as well

This has to be the oldest logic puzzle on Earth. Here's a twist on it:

:tiphat:

Here's a particularly fiendish variation that I was assigned for a class a while back:

"You encounter three people; one always tells the truth, one always lies, and one always answers yes or no randomly. You have three yes/no questions to determine the identity of each person with 100% certainty. (You cannot direct a general question to more than one person at once.)"

Darn, I wanted to post the xkcd...
Oh well, I'll give the mouseover text. ;)
"And the whole setup is just a trap to capture escaping logicians. None of the doors actually lead out."
