Hi all,

Could you please outline the procedures you use to make a direct re-entry (Apollo) with IMFD (or anything else you might use)?

The burns seem to get a bit heywire after my first MCC burn - the entry angle keeps increasing no matter what I enter in the base approach screen.

Also, can you aim for a base using the TECC program in LunarTransferMFD?

Thanks.

Have you tried my tutorial, George?

Yes, I have used that for a while, and it has been the best one I have ever come across. Good work.

The problem is occuring at the part saying:

"Essentially follow the same procedure as above for the next MCC, and any others you opt to make. Personally, I usually wait until the Apollo is well inside earth’s SOI (Monitor this on the Map MFD). The second MCC might be around a four-second burn. It is probably better to monitor your actual burn time rather than dV itself – fuel is tight!"

I make the first one, but I don't know what to do then. The burn time never increases again to allow for me to wait until it is at a minumum.

Thanks.

Does this only work when you have a re-entry solution? Sometimes I get a PeA instead of a re-entry (which is easily fixable).

Everything you need to know, with an annotated playback. The direct reentry playback is with an XR2-Ravenstar. Once you can do that, a direct reentry with any spacecraft should be a piece of cake.
