Idea Ideas for add-ons

I was thinking very simple graphics (I haven't done any programming concerning graphics ... most of my stuff to date has been business/network-admin related) ... anyway ... simple graphics to help visually align things when placing them in a scenario ...

ah, I see... that would actually be quite a project, and I don't quite see why you would need it out of sim, since it would basically have to have all of orbiters capabilities.

Hmmm...

You could do that *in* orbiter to make it even easier...and you could call it... the "Scenario Editor!" Excellent idea!

Also, C3PO once created a special grid mesh for aligning objects in a surface base. ;)

What I would like to see done, would be two third party extensions of World of 2001:
1. A set of modules, vehicles and other tools for building a science outpost on planetary surfaces.
2. A special analog to UMMU, which adds some RPG elements, like having passengers with a destination or research astronauts gaining experience during deployments.

The Minuteman space launcher proposal makes perfect sense from a utilitarian perspective--you've got all these mass-produced (and thus comparatively cheap) rockets that can already boost a payload to more than 80% of orbital speed, so slapping a small upper stage and a satellite on them is not a great feat. You would however have to convince other nations that you are NOT launching nukes when you fire one off.

1. A space elevator that physically links the surfaces of Pluto and Charon, which are tidally locked to each other.

2. The exoplanet VB 10b, a 6.4 Jupiter-mass planet that is the same size as its star, both being about 71,000 km in radius. The planet and star themselves orbit the star Gliese 752, about half a solar mass, at about 434 AU out. The planet probably gets more light from VB 10 than from Gliese 752, so it should be the sun, and Gliese 752 a half solar-mass planet 434 AU away.

3. The Ark from Halo 3. I tried to make this once, but I fail at mesh making. The Ark has an artificial sun, which I used as the sun in the system, and the Moon-sized planet in the center of the Ark as a planet. If someone else wants to make it, there is a good mesh of the Ark on Google 3D Warehouse.

Yes - and it was already used that way. Look for the Minotaur series.

I thought I'd add a couple of pictures of the proposed launch vehicles. One is a ship designed to launch liquid fueled rockets.

The second is a B-58 designed to launch a modified Minuteman.

Yeah ... I know ... :P But scenario editor as is doesn't pick up a lot of stuff.

So, I was thinking a simple WYSIWYG to place items in and around ... no physics, no simulation ...

... as I said, just throwing the idea out there.

Project PILOT would be a cool idea to have. As we already got several jetplanes we could use one of them, leaving us with modelling the rocket.

Whoa, thank you so much! It's very well done!

Is there any chance to have the rocket sitting on the ground on it's own? They did two test flights with a dummy second to fifth stage in a vertical launch, before moving on to the jet flights.

I was going to say the Vally Forge from silent running but then found it on OH lol.

Incedentaly the whole film is up on Youtube so watch it now before it gets removed.
