Depends. If it's a butterfly or some other not-disgusting insect, I will save it. If it's a centipede with a horrifying amount of legs and a nasty bite, I will leave it to its fate. Or destroy it myself.

Cockcroach? Heck yea especially if my Wife sees it. If I dont, PANIC ensues and my wife will wail like a Banshee until it is dead!:jawdrops:

it depends on the insect... i have a sworn hatred against those damn mosquitos... i wouldn't mind having those extinct, so i usually have myself a blast eletrocuting them to non-existance with my mighty swatter :hunter:

those countless nights without proper sleep shall be revenged! MWAHAHAHAHA!

I don't go out of my way to kill any insect. I don't find the really disgusting ones (roaches, or the Parktown Prawn) appealing though.

But I'm with Moach on mosquitos. They've caused me enough trouble.

Any insect I see gets squashed under my foot or electrocuted with my electric fly swatter.
Mm hmm hmm hmm hmmm... HAAH HAHAH HAH HAHAHHH!!!!!

-ahem-

I try not to kill insects deliberately, but I'm not above spraying ammonia on a wasp or two if they invade my porch. There's something morbidly fascinating about watching a creature stab its own face.

And yes, down with those mosquitos.

I spare insects in their natural environment.

But usually, I kill female mosquitoes just when I see them flying around (the males don't disturb me, and even don't come near). The other insects I try to kill after they bite me, or when they disturb me, like "mad" flies, that try to sit on me, or enter my ears, nose or eyes.

I rarely kill an insect bug, but I don't spare code bugs when I'm programming.

I only kill blood sucking insects, because I am strongly against vampirism.

I try to save insects wherever possible, except spiders - I hate spiders! It's their legs - I just don't like them! The little ones are okay, but the big ones....ugh. (By big, I mean 2-3 inches long - I'm glad we don't get tarantulas in the UK!)

I know a military guy who knows another military guy who woke up in a tent in the desert with a camel spider just above his face on the inside of his mosquito net! It apparently took his friends 5 minutes to stop him from running around the desert screaming! :P

Seconded... I've never liked wasps.

Well, this version has ants as a feature. You can also add a player, who can squirt acid out of his face (never thought I'd say anything like that ), so...
BURN THEM!!

Heh, I actually tried to make a rocket engine using that once!

I hate insects. Anything with six legs around my house is dead if I catch it.

The exception is Preying Mantises. They are cool. They also assist me in my task. It's the same reason I welcome spiders to my home. (any non-web dwelling spider that I catch wandering around I will capture and release outside to avoid accidentally becoming a threat to it and getting bitten. Have once seen a brown recluse crawling across my mouse.)

Back when I had my Bearded Dragon, I would sacrifice crickets to him by the dozen, daily.

Looks like we're not ready for Starship Troopers yet !

Electric fly swatters?
Oh, it's 21st century already.

Similar here - wasps and mosquitos have no mercy, but other crowd usually not intentionally harmed.

I have made a pact with spiders, where I will leave them be in the outside world (it's their domain), but once they step inside I'll slaughter them if they are in eye-shot. If they are crafty enough to stay hidden from me, good for them, they are super helpful (though they just creep me out).

In the summer-times here, we usually get an ant infestation so I have to go to work poisoning a colony which isn't very fun. Most other bugs, I let be. To be honest, exercising my position as tippity top of the evolutionary chain isn't fun. Though I did used to have a spider hunting game with a roommate from college (we'd use weapons like samurai swords and blow guns to get the wolf spiders that came to say hello)
