Good news, it's the Dacia Sandero!

Well, not really, but it seems like the advanced flight model for the F-15C is coming along nicely:
BelSimTek said:
The original F-15C flight model currently featured in DCS was developed over a decade ago and represents an earlier generation of simulation technology. Despite demonstrating generally correct aerodynamic performance under normal flight conditions and providing great gameplay, current user expectations, available computer power, and developer expertise demand a higher level of fidelity. As a result, a comprehensive advanced flight model of the primary U.S. jet fighter, the F-15C Eagle, has been under development for DCS.

Late March? Need budget.

And in the same time period the MiG-21 is anticipated to get released. Need moar money. I shall be off robbing a bank or two.

What a crime is the robbing of a bank in comparison to the founding of a bank?

Also, I still hope that we will one day also get some of the European aircraft... like the EE Lightning, this rocket would even fit well into Orbiter.

RAZBAM is working on the Mirage 2000 and the Harrier, while VEAO is taking on the Hawk and the Typhoon. Granted, those developers are still unproven in DCS, but things seem to be coming along, albeit only in a relatively early stage for now.

A SeaHarrier would also be a nice module to buy for me... but I think its pretty hard learn flying for both A-10C and SeaHarrier. Mi-8 and A-10C is already a tough one to combine, though the A-10C is pretty userfriendly to fly... just a bit harder to navigate and fire the weapons.

CBU-87/103 are more geared towards light targes, to tanks "'tis but a scratch!". For those targets, use CBU-97/105. :)

Thanks! The CBU-97 did the trick...

It looks like you're using the non-IR Maverick?? Try the -65D--IR seeker and 6x zoom vs. the other's 3x.

I haven't re-tried the first mission using the new strategy, so it's certainly possible that it's still really difficult to target the tanks with all of the clutter around them. Obvious solution is to just get rid of the clutter, although the property owners might object to my methods for that...

"It's those bridges!" *

I took a mixed load; AMG-65Ds and CBU-97s. I could not get the Maverick to lock onto anything but that bridge that the tanks are near, no matter what I did.

RIP SGL will drop one bomb at a time with the specified interval between them.

RIP PRS will drop two bombs at a time, one off of each wing, with the specified interval between pairs.

Yay for things I learned in my youth with A-10 Cuba! ...
 Nice! Thanks!

*William Holden, if I recall correctly? Know the feeling, now. :P

At the moment, I am not able to host a session tomorrow Saturday. But I'll be able to host one Sunnday evening.
I included some of the demanded features into the known scenario (JTAC, CA commanders, more aircraft), but I'm not sure, if I've got enough time to scramble the targets better, and give 'em a little more anti-air support. It's a time consuming process reorganizing all those units.

If somebody has the ressources, he may improve the target asortment:

Been trying and failing at the third A-10A campaign mission. There appear to be two variants, and I've failed at both.

One of the variants has you take out a trio of artillery behind enemy lines. Turns out that the trio of vehicles near the actual waypoint are in fact trucks, not artillery. The target artillery is way off to the side, I discovered as I wasted all my mavericks on a handful of trucks. While trying to get closer to use bombs, I took a SAM and exploded.

Next up was a mission to take out a trio of tanks. Hey, I can do this! Except that the tanks are hidden in clutter and nowhere near the orange smoke they send up, and extremely spread out. There was also a flight of F/A-18s that I was hoping would be doing some SEAD, but no such luck. I was dodging medium range SAMs the whole time, and ended up dying to some MANPADs.

Then, back to the artillery mission. I turned on labels this time, because frustration...and I still fell prey to the three trucks closer to the waypoint than the artillery. Those are three dead trucks, though. Died to a SAM while trying to get closer.

Whoever they have determining the threat level of these missions should be fired. There's not "moderate AAA and short-range IR SAMs." There's heavy SAM coverage, both short-range IR and long-range radar. The low zoom level of the Mavericks means I can't really distinguish targets from afar the way I could in the Su-25T, and the penalty for picking the wrong target is much higher since I only have 6 Mavericks vs. 16 Vikhrs + a handful of Kh-25ML/-29Ls. Getting in close for guns or bombs seems to be suicide, as far as I can tell.

Kind of at a loss as to how this is supposed to work. Going to give it one more go (the artillery version), with labels on, now that I'm very aware of the stupid trucks, and we'll see if I can even manage it then.

---------- Post added at 02:23 ---------- Previous post was at 01:45 ----------

Ended up finishing it this time around, and tagged a couple Mi-24s while I was at it. Yay. Having the labels on really helps with targeting the Mavericks, since I get more detail out of the little red dots on the terrain than I do out of the Maverick's IR view... Feels like cheating, though, and while I was getting pretty confident with the Su-25T towards the end, I'm not really sure how I would be able to pull this off without labels on the A-10A, short of running the mission multiple times to find the exact target locations...

Forgot to mention it in my first post, but this mission also had a really hefty crosswind, to the point where the velocity vector was off the HUD when landing...

Ok, I adjusted the mission, and mixed the target types more. I also added _a lot_ more air defence. To get some hits with a Huey is now only possible, if you get some SEAD assistance (not necessarily with anti-radiation missiles).

Today was a very nice day here in switzerland, so I tried to included the exact weather in the scenario: Blue sky and a small layer of mist at the lower altitudes.

Server will be opening around 1800 UTC.

Sorry guys. The server crashed when it had to spawn a new SAM group. Seems the mission still needs some work.
The air defences are quite heavy, but with the right tactics, I think they're an adequate challenge.

Getting even more frustrated with the A-10A campaign. Has anyone else finished it successfully with labels off? It seems to be giving me missions and routings that fly me right over enemy SAMs while asking me to take out vaguely described targets in vaguely described areas. I'm trying to fly it with labels off, but it seems all but impossible to actually find the target I'm supposed to hit, much less actually hit it and GTFO before getting shot down. Turning on labels seems like it'll make things a whole lot easier, and I'm going to have to resort to that for now, with the suspicion that the campaign was designed with having them on in mind.

I can't stay at higher altitude, out of MANPAD range, due to the medium range SAM sites that are behind a few hills. In the Su-25T this would be an easy situation to remedy, I'd just take the Fantasmagoria and a couple of anti-radiation missiles, solve the SAM site problem and then use the 20x zoom to pick off the targets from a safe distance, but this doesn't work in the A-10.

Is there something I'm missing?

It seems to be the same campaign as in Flaming Cliffs 2...
I gave up after the frustration of constantly beeing shot down became to much for me.
The A-10A campaign in Lock On was great IMHO.
Not too much defense but still enough to keep it interesting.
Sadly there's no way to properly port it over after Crimea was sacrified for Georgia in FC2...
