What are your results?

Mine:

Angle Major Minor TES S-index C-index
-11.3 36.9 6.1 37.4 6.07 3.99

Strong deutain colour vision defect.
Deuteranopia red-green colour deficiency.

Here have this green rage face:
old-mad.gif

Makes me want to spoon my eyes out. The only thing I every truly wanted to be in life, was a pilot. I can fix miopia (nearsightedness) with surgery down to a aviation standard acceptable level, however there is no (available) treatment for red-green deficiency. 1 in 12 men lack either the red or the green sensitive photoreceptor proteins that are normally present in the colour-sensing cells, or cones, of the retina. They do have a gene-therapy thing they tried on monkeys and it worked, they started growing the missing cones and rods, however that was in a lab, and the procedure is not openly published, if it was, I'd go to India and have it done.

P.S. I can clearly see that the mad smiley face is red. The only time I cant tell between green or red is on extremely similar LED lights, like the ones on a modem or a router.

I achieved:
Angle Major Minor TES S-index C-index
61.9 9.2 6.7 11.4 1.38 1.00

Which is as close as it gets to normal I'd say.

Normal:
Angle Major Minor TES S-index C-index
+62.0 9.2 6.7 11.4 1.38 1.00

Do I get cake now?

Angle Major Minor TES S-index C-index
61.9 9.2 6.7 11.4 1.38 1.00

According to this test result you are not colorblind.

Angle Major Minor TES S-Index C-Index
61.9 9.2 6.7 11.4 1.38 1.00

Not color blind

I'm sorry to hear that you have a disabilty like that, don't wish for anyone to not see correctly. Sight is very important! I my self are nearsighted and know what it feels like to not see properly.

ditto. EDIT: 61.9 9.2 6.7 11.4 1.38 1.00 However this is a reminder for all add-on developers not to rely on colours.

I am not colorblind (though I am nearsighted :() - but I don't think many females are.

Color vision is arbitrary, though - birds have 4 receptors (blue, green, red, ultraviolet), bees can't see red but can see blue, green and ultraviolet, and most mammals are dichromats - so various creatures see different ranges of colors.

Colorblindness doesn't stop you from becoming a (civilian) pilot. Worst-case scenario, your medical certificate will carry a restriction to the effect of "NOT VALID FOR NIGHT FLIGHT OR BY COLOR SIGNAL CONTROL."

I've heard that it's possible to avoid this restriction by having some kind of test done that demonstrates your ability to correctly distinguish the colors used in the signal gun. You'll want to talk to a DME in your area to find out what options are available to you.

From what I gather in Canada, having a Restricted Commercial Licence is a big "Do Not Hire" sign above your head.
Can you imagine an airline hiring a pilot that can't be in the cockpit seat during night flight.

At least I can start my own bush pilot business in Northern Canada.
During winter seasons, the only way anything gets there (cargo and people) is by plane.

1.41 An applicant who does not qualify under paras. 1.39 or 1.40 shall be assessed as fit for a restricted Commercial Pilot Licence provided the licence is issued with the following restriction: "Valid daylight only, 2-way radio required at controlled airports". NOTE: The colour perception practical test is no longer acceptable.

Well yes, the requirements for commercial pilots are a lot stricter, but that doesn't stop you from being a pilot as a hobby. Lots of people, myself included, are pilots without having it as a job.

I came out normal. Though I must say that while I could distinguish the colors very well, it took me a while to figure out how exactly they wanted me to arrange them...

My monitor passed the test

Angle Major Minor TES S-index C-index
61.9 9.2 6.7 11.4 1.38 1.00

You should be aware of that using a LCD screen at an angle can have a big impact on the result.

3 times in a row..."severity" bar always between 1/2 and 3/4.
According to this test result I have a deutan color vision defect.

Code:
Angle Major	Minor	TES	S-index C-index
-24.4	32.3	7.9	33.2	4.10	3.50

Angle	Major	Minor	TES	S-index	C-index
-17.0	32.8	7.2	33.6	4.58	3.55

Angle	Major	Minor	TES	S-index	C-index
-16.9	27.9	8.7	29.2	3.20	3.02

using a LCD screen
Using any screen can have an impact here - the mixing of primary colours and actual wavelength colours are not the same and are not always perceived as the same. It's a very human-tuned technology.

Makes no difference if you're acutely colour-blind, but fine touches can be lost.

Not colourblind, but I still mix up the Es and the 3s...

Mine is exactly like River Crab's. According to the test, I'm not colorblind.

---------- Post added at 15:44 ---------- Previous post was at 15:40 ----------

I have made the test again, backwards (ordering blue to the right and purple on the left). I only got a slight protan color vision defect. I think I can't make it worse...:beathead:
