Changing planet orbits

How do I make it where the moon was closer to earth or put rings around Earth. I am familiar with Sol files.http://orbiter-forum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile2.gif how do I fix the smiley thing?

To put rings around earth copy the "Saturn_ring" texture and rename it to: " Earth_ring ".

And also could you please right down the earth config file. when i turn on engines and yaw left it skids and lots of other crazy things happen.
