Can't configure XR5

I tried to change some of the settings in the XR5VanguardPrefs.cfg file and could not save my changes. I got an error messge: "Could not create C:\Program files\Orbiter\Config\XR5VanguardPrefs.cfg file". I am using Windows Vista.

What program did you use to edit the file?

Notepad. I also tried it from the Command prompt in C: using edit.

Sounds more like a file permissions issue. Try copy-pasting the file to your desktop and editting it there. Vista is security zealous, it might be denying you write privs.

I tried, but I can't copy it here for some reason. It is the configuration file that installed with XR5 Vanguard. XR5VanguardPrefs.cfg is the file name.

That did it! I saved a small change with no problem. Now I can get somewhere.

Anyone ever tell you how gifted you are?
