General Question Camera Angles

Hey everyone

I know this may seem like a stupid question but I am new around here and am only just beginning to fiddle with orbiter. I am using fraps to capture some footage in orbiter but am having trouble acquiring the right shot. In essence I want to have a Delta Glider enter my field of view from either right or left of the screen without anything in the shot prior.

As an example, say I am in orbit and wish to have a shot where the delta glider appears from the right as described in the following image. I know this may sound stupid but please bear with me.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome!

It's not stupid at all. I use flyby shots in my Orbiter films a lot.

You can either press Ctrl+F1 to open the camera window and go to the Ground tab. Select Current and you will fix the camera. For orbital speeds however, I would suggest: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3657"]Orbiter Fly-By Camera[/ame]

Thanks for that. I've just downloaded the Fly-By Camera MFD but I have no idea how to use it. I expected to see it in the modules I could activate in Orbiter Launchpad but it wasn't there. I've read the documentation on it I just need to know how to access it.

The Fly-By Camera is a vessel so it does not have a module that needs to be activated but rather requires that the Camera vessel be in the scenario. That could be acheived by one of two methods: 1. Editing the scenario file by hand to make the appropriate entries; or 2. Inserting the vessel into the scenario using the Scenario Editor.

Disclaimer: I've never used the addon, so I'm not sure which method is recommended in the documentation.

It should be a module you have to activate. I haven't used the new one actually. The old one made use of an MFD, however it's possible the new one will have to be opened in the sim by pressing Ctrl+F4. That will open a window where you can select things like the scenario editor. See if you can find it there possibly.

Lol, neither have I. I just read the addon description: "This update replaces the MFD with a vessel..."
