Flight Question Burn time problems plz help!!

Hi all,
I have had orbiter a year or so now and can fly to the moon no problem. However i've been trying to get to mars using the transfer mfd but the only thing stopping me is the amount of time to actually burn because the mfd only tells you the required dv and not how long to burn. Anyone got any ideas of how to work out how long to burn for??

Well. Transfer MFD isn't best tool for Earth->Mars trip.
I suggest using IMFD or TransX.
I prefer IMFD. It's quite easy to use and can guide you all the way from Earth to Mars.

I've done Earth->Mars using TransferMFD, but I must admit, it isn't the easiest thing to do. There are some really good video tutorials using TransX, there are some also good tutorials for IMFD.
Do yourself a favor, and learn one (or both) of these. There is an "IMFD Full Manual" at the 'Hanger that takes care of 99% of the IMFD problems that I had when I started with it.
As far as which on is best? Well there are big fans of both here on the Forum. I've learned both, it's really not that hard once you put your mind to it.
If I'm doing something from Earth->Luna or Mars->Phobos I'll use TransferMFD. But for interplanetary travel I'll step up to IMFD.

Just out of interest though, i have tried installing the burn time calculator and have installed the required .dll file to windows/system32 folder, it comes up with the following error message still when i open up orbiter:
" The procedure entry point_iob_func could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCR70.dll"

I am currently running windows Vista.

Put the DLL in the Orbiter folder.

I believe it's the Modules/Plugins folder inside your orbiter directory that the .dll goes into. If it's installed correctly, it should show up on the Modules tab of the Launchpad. Make sure it's enabled.

The error message suggests, he already activated BTC and it is missing MSVCR70.dll. Putting that into the orbiter folder should solve the problem.
