Im really confused with AMSO. Is the whole Apollo 11 flight autopilot beside's J,K... key's? Is the actual whole mission flown by autopilot? I'm getting frustrated with Orbiter and these 50+ page "easy tutorials" with these tei burns, IMFD's and stuff. I dont understand !!!!! Is AMSO going to automatically retract the LEM for me or do I have to do it? Can somebody please help me! AAAHHHH!!!:compbash:

Im just lacking patience at the moment...

Thanks for the help

Trust me you want to use orbiter you will have to read lots of tutorials.

Didn't you read the part of the orbiter homepage saying that Orbiter has a very steep learning curve? ;)

STAMP. The first weeks I started playing Orbiter, I had to print a lot of manuals to understand the basics. I've been playing since early summer and I still to this day read and print manuals. So trust us... reading manuals and tutorials is a standard way of life in the Orbiter world.

One of things I did was print out the orbiter manual plus any manuals the addons came with and bound them into a booklet. I then read them on the train to and from work, a few times I had specific questions I could look up but most of the time it was idle browsing. I still refer to them from time to time when i want to try something new!

:blush:Yeah, i've got about 300+ Pages of instructions and manual's. It get's quite confusing flipping from page to page but I still survive and sometimes I find myself flying about WAY past the moon (my objective is the moon) and just saying "oh well, i'll get it eventually". I love the game regardless of the skill required to play and i'm still in the very early learning stages of even the basics of space travel.

The farthest I can get in AMSO on the 11 mission is LEM extraction and it seems when I get the CSM and LEM lined up my CSM just goes thru the LEM like its a static object???!!?!

Diggercam,

I have found that after lining up the CSM and LEM, slow down the simulation by pressing R so time shows 0.1, the ships will still be moving closer together, then press D when they are close enough, and the CSM should dock to the LEM. I think in mine, something is missing because I cannot extract the LEM from the last stage of the rocket. I can dock them, but cannot remove the LEM..

After docking, press J to remove the LEM.

Well, thanks for the response, but I tried that, and it didn't work. I was able to get my astronaut out of the CSM and on a tethered space-walk, but couldn't figure out how to put him back in. K opens the door, and E will release the astronaut, but E will not put him back in.

Oh well.
