Having bought this sim and got all the latest addons - it has now apparently gone bust or stopped development.
What I want to do and for personal use is to change some of the textures in the game
The files I want to change are in 3dmf format - Does anyone preferaby freeware know of an editor/converter that will allow me to load the 3dmf file - change it to bmp for editing and change it back again to 3dmf format?

Which format it is 3dfm or 3dmf?
And pretty sad that project is closed now. :-/

I have already tried that and others but just seem to go round in circles - but thanks anyway

You can always guess. It isn't uncommon to change the extensions on file types to make it harder to reverse engineer it.

If you had the right tools you could determine the file type by the binary, but trial and error works fine. If the program installed directX, be sure to investigate those file formats.

Sorry it is 3dmf format
Just want to change the names on the mercury capsule and the boosters -thats all

It was written in RealBASIC so check at their website to see what it could be.

I use GIMP, but a quick search didn't turn up a plug-in for that, but I did find this
