After the JWS observation, the impact chance for the Moon is rated to 4%:

As I undertood the blog, the focus of that investigation is more to estimate the size and find out more about the material, to estimate the potential damage of an potential impact and it's also important to know that stuff to plan deffence messures (in the low probability case of a collision)...
Now we point one of our best instrument to this little rock:

Hello, this asteroid which has been discovered on 27 December 2024, will hopefully flyby earth very close, but acutal there is a 1 in 77 chance that it hit earth on 22 December 2032. This might be the highest value since a long time... Today it has been rated 3 on the Torino scale...
Hello, I tried to recompile using settings from https://www.orbiterwiki.org/wiki/Free_Compiler_Setup.
Can someone please let me know if it's working now? I just attached the dll in a zip file here for testing...
Hello I have tried it on a clean O2016 version and it worked for me, default key is Shift+U!? Did you download it from the download section (link)? Are you using Orbiter Beta or so?
I just tested it with "deepstar 3 lander" but it's not working yet (however it works with older version). I guess I figured out why: The deepstar 3 lander has thrusters which are shared for pitch, yaw and roll, this cannot be handeled by the ap at the moment.
🤣
Space Shuttle: No, it has no Hover Engines for touch down and you would need the ET for braking in Lunar Orbit,... Ok I modified the description 😎
Lunar Module like: Definitely yes, I tested it with the deepstar lander, but I guess to remember there was trouble controlling the AMSO LM by the...

Hello, it tooks a while but now it's working.
I guess Orbiter sometimes deletes that line, but now, in the last try, it added the "; === Subdirectory locations" comment automaticly.
The line was added at buttom by me and moved was upward during launch, so maybe this sometimes not works and the...
Earth looks like this:
I used
https://github.com/orbitersim/orbiter/releases
Assets->Orbiter-x86.zip
orbiter.cfg seems to be overwritten by it's original content each time I launch as scenario.
Ok I downloaded it, but now there are as assumed no textures.
Can I still use the textures of Orbiter2016?
I add the line TextureDir = "C:\Orbiter\Orbiter2016\Textures\" (tested with and withozt "" ) to the Orbiter.cfg, but there are still no textures?
And the cfg file seems to be overwritten...
No I haven't installed neighter any addon, nor a graphic client.
I just want to test some stuff in the beta, maybe NASSP might be an option later... ;-).
I also noticed that the beta a old (it's from 2019?), so I have one more question (Maybe off topic), but are there some builds from the open...
Hello,
I downloaded Orbiter Beta R90, but it will not start after selecting a scenario from the Launchpad.
I haven't installed any addons and cannot find something in the log.
I tested several 3D devices including RGB emulation, but it's still not launching, only the loading screen is displayed...
Hello I have one question regarding visual studio:
I cannot find out were those $(ConfigDir) variables are set.
How can I modify them if they are wrong?
I've searched through the project files but can't find them and even in this view they cannot be edited...
Ha thanks again,
now I'm able to draw the flight path (yellow line) easy (before I used a simple, numerical euler integration) and to calculate importantant altitude information :)
It's much faster now!
Now I can think about to do the burn to flatten the flight path for final approach...
