What kind of add-on do you think would change Orbiter forever?

Who wants trees? :P

I feel like terrain would be much more important than trees--You could accurately recreate every forest in the world with trees, and it'll still look bad from the air if there isn't some kind of terrain to go with it.

I'm thinking specifically of the 90s game "A-10 Cuba"--the "forests" were just flat-color blocks that stood above the rest of the terrain, with textured edges and the occassional "treetop" sticking out, but because there were mountains and valleys to fly along it was a relatively immersive experience despite the low quality.

more "Sims"-like UMmus and the UCGO and PreludeII-bases are houses. Or at minimum an UMmu that get's older, when you have a 5-yeears-mars-experience. You must give in birthday than, so that the computer knows, when it get's older a year.

at least it should be posssible to choose the body mesh (male/female, hair, glasses, etc) seperate to the job (the spacesuit mesh).

:) can see that you're missing ginger-haired beauties... hardly a thing that can change Orbiter forever and ever and ever, to be honest...

I'm still going with water and tree/road scenery like FSX. I know it would be very hard to do. I am just imagining how it would be......:hmm:

Also I reckon something that adds better (if not full) compatability with older add-ons, not very realistic I know, but I wish I had Project Mercury and Project Gemini in 2010 along with Project Apollo, I can't stand incomplete sets.

how about a module that allows you to set up all the satalites (and ISS) with their real-world orbits, to create a more realistic and immersive experience

You already have that capability. TLEs from McDowell, seeSat-L or other sources can be used via [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2617"]Scenario Editor TLE[/ame]

It will place all the satellites there are in the provided TLE file into every Orbiter session, but only when you're close enough.
Thousands of satellites, no lags.

a 3d Cockpit for the dgiv, but like the one at he standard DG, were you an do everything you can do in the 2dmode.

I don't think any one add-on will change Orbiter forever, but perhaps there will be a shift in focus that creates support for a type of add-on. For example, UMMU wouldn't be big unless other add-on makers chose to support it. Don't know what this new shift will be. Perhaps ships for interstellar travel to support Orbiter Galaxy.

Ability of add-ons to interoperate with each other.

Ability of add-ons to interoperate with each other.

If they are programmed to have the ability, they can. But it's up to the addon developer and his skills, not to Orbiter, to decide wheather or not he wants to take the trouble and wheather or not it makes sense to do an SDK for his add-on.

well if we ave collision detection we would need to change some other things, for example there would have to be working airlocks int he inflantable bases and so on...
