The cockpit can be done several different ways like we were talking about. Yesterday night while I was falling asleep I thought about adding the texture to the cockpit and making the main controls actual meshes with materials so it would stand out more. Or I could make each gauge and etc its own mesh including the needles. Which one sounds better?
Would you also like me to make a mesh for the inlet spikes or is that a bit overkill? I have been reading the diagrams, but I m still confused a little bit. I know that the airflow's change and all, but I didn't see a lot of differences between each of the mach changes.
I know that sea level and pressure come into effect when establishing Mach speed, but what is the Mach speed of 3.2 in m/s?

Thanks for all the comments. I prefer that you go ahead and get the important gauges done this week because I probably won't have the opportunity for awhile. Save something for me to do though.I wanted to make the TEB massless - it is not even a liter of it on board. The TEB for each engine is displayed next to the throttle. The 145 kN thrust of each engine is also not the maximum, but rather the "normal" maximum. The engines could reach more thrust at high altitude, before the EGT limits are really exceeded and the engine is taking damage. I think about calculating with a theoretical maximum of 160 kN, should be enough room for players to test the limits.
What would be more important for flying a mission, would be aerial refueling. The engines are so ineffective during subsonic flight and at low altitude, that they consume a lot of the fuel only for meeting with the tanker.
I would prefer 3D gauges, as it looks better and we don't have too many gauges to draw, compared to the shuttle. If you want, I can make the important gauges and dials in anim8or this weekend, the flight manual has four pages which are showing exactly how the texture should be. You would just have to scale and fit them into the VC mesh then.
The spikes are a must, but you don't need to make the part that is not visible from the outside in any case. The afterburner and the turbine would be visible from behind though. Also, all the doors which are visible from the outside would be nice to have animated, so the changes from turbojet to ramjet mode would be visible.
